If you plan to take this exam, it is important to do well. Our educational consultants can help you find group classes or private instructors who can help you enhance your GMAT study sessions. Read on to learn more about what these opportunities have to offer.
What can San Francisco-Bay Area GMAT prep cover?
When you take the GMAT, you are given about 3.5 hours to complete four different sections: Integrated Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and the Analytical Writing Assessment. A wide range of skills is measured through multiple-choice and essay questions, which may motivate you to search for a qualified instructor to prepare with. Though there are three sequence variations in which you may arrange the sections, let's start with the Quantitative Reasoning portion.
You have 62 minutes to tackle the 31 questions on the Quantitative Reasoning section of this test. There are two types of problems, including data sufficiency and problem-solving. These questions serve to measure your ability to interpret graphic data, solve quantitative problems, and use logical and analytical reasoning. Though you need some basic knowledge of subjects like geometry, arithmetic, and elementary algebra, this portion of the GMAT primarily focuses on your ability to apply your skills than the math skills themselves.
The Integrated Reasoning section spans 12 questions and features graphics interpretation, two-part analysis, table analysis, and multi-source reasoning questions. Overall, this section provides business schools a look at your ability to synthesize, combine, manipulate, organize, and evaluate different information to solve complex problems. Many of the questions will ask for multiple answers. During this section, you will have access to a basic calculator. You will have 30 minutes to complete it.
There are 36 questions on the Verbal Reasoning section, which allows you 65 minutes to complete it. Though you won't need specific subject knowledge to solve these questions, you will need to have strong critical reasoning, reading comprehension, and sentence correction skills. The reading comprehension questions focus on your understanding of logical relationships, application, inference, structural, and similar skills. Critical reasoning focuses on your ability to form, evaluate, and present arguments and plans of action.
The Analytical Writing Assessment allows 30 minutes to read, analyze, and respond to a given argument. Your thoughts will need to be organized, articulate, and concise while using evidence found in the argument. Time management is a crucial component of this section.
How can I benefit from different types of San Francisco-Bay Area GMAT prep?
Since different students have different learning styles, we aim to find you study resources that are conducive to your educational needs. You can choose to sign up for an online San Francisco Bay GMAT prep class or opt for in-person or online private tutoring. If you'd prefer, you can even choose both. Read on to learn more about how tutoring or a prep class could bring efficiency to your test review efforts.
If you're interested in taking a GMAT course, our educational consultants can help you sign up for online instruction led by a knowledgeable mentor in a classroom-like environment. With new sessions starting every week, you can opt to participate in 2-week or 4-week San Francisco-Bay Area GMAT preparation sessions. Online interactive sessions allow you to work alongside your peers from your laptop, so you can study anywhere you like.
These collaborative online classes allow you to review with an expert instructor who has been thoroughly vetted. Working alongside other students can allow you to engage in discussions that focus on aspects of the exam that you may not have thought to prepare for on your own. Your instructor can expand on the skills you'll need on the GMAT while introducing you and your peers to techniques that can help you arrive at the proper solution. They can walk your class through isolation strategies that can help eliminate incorrect answer choices for a problem or review practice questions to provide a demonstration of these techniques. If you need more help with a concept or skill, you can take advantage of one-on-one time with your class instructor.
Perhaps you would benefit most from one-on-one test prep sessions. We can help you start working with a San Francisco-Bay Area GMAT tutor who can provide custom-tailored guidance that's rarely provided in a classroom course. Your instructor can meet with you in person at a place of your choosing or online through our Live Learning Platform. A personal mentor can get to know you as a student, including your learning style, interests, testing goals, areas of opportunity, and strengths. With this insight, your instructor can develop a test prep plan that can focus on your individual needs. For instance, if you feel confident in your skills for Quantitative Reasoning, you can spend study sessions focusing on the skills you have the most room to develop for the Analytical Writing Assessment. Whatever you need, your professional mentor can help you work out the approach you might take as you go after your GMAT goals.

From her, I learned that a meaningful education requires more than just knowing facts and how to find the right answers. A good teacher must help students recognize their individual learning styles, discover any flaws in their foundation knowledge, set reasonable goals, and look for deeper meanings behind why a problem is best solved a certain way. Moreover, she...

...and goals. I previously taught high school for several years and also have tutoring experience in a wide variety of subject areas. At this time, I focus almost exclusively on assisting students seeking top scores on graduate admissions exams, including the GRE, GMAT and LSAT. In my free time I enjoy watching all kinds of sports, reading, playing board games, going to concerts, and spending time with my friends, family, and 4-pound Chihuahua Pinkie.... My teaching philosophy is essentially that all students have the capacity and desire to learn. Some individuals may just need individualized instruction in particular subject areas or with study skills and time management. I think that building confidence is one of the most key components to academic success, and I strive to do so with every student.
