Elementary Math Tutoring review by Phasouk in New Hampshire
The student was able to demonstrate independent practice of addition and subtraction. Continued practice will result in mastery. We covered the concepts of multiplication today, and practiced multiplying small numbers and read them as X groups of Y.

The student was awesome today. She works very hard and really gives her best effort. She worked on her new deck of times table cards. She is to work every day on the set of 15 cards that we removed from the complete deck. We discussed factors of a number, and found all factors of 10 and all factors of 100. We then found factors of smaller numbers, and listed them from least to greatest. Afterwards, we went through the nines multiplication facts and found patterns.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Jordan in New Hampshire
The student was breezing through the questions in the book, so I introduced him to averages (which are a little above grade level). I also had him write a paragraph for me to tell me about the books he's reading. I think he might enjoy "A Series of Unfortunate Events," by Lemony Snicket. I have all the "Harry Potter" books, if he wants to borrow any.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Taylor in New Hampshire
The student was doing much better both with focus and remembering facts. He is multiplying and adding very well. We should be switching gears to division next week. He has trouble processing full sentences and instead remembers keywords. We need to start getting him to synthesize everything he has read instead of just words. To combat this, I had him explain every paragraph he had read to me as he was going.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Vincenzo in New Hampshire
The student was in a much better mood today and worked very well and had a blast while doing so. We worked through some of his summer math packet from school, touching on subjects such as counting coins, even vs odd numbers, and creating bar graphs. This was an excellent session today!

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Jennece in New Hampshire
The student was on FIRE today! She whizzed through the review of long division with ease. I gave her a poem to help her remember the rules for rounding, and we applied that to her lessons for today. She successfully complete all of the practice problems with rounding from the hundreds thousands place to the tens place. We then applied the same concept to the estimation of money. She completed two practice problems and two word problems utilizing this skill. She has completed the multiplication test, but needs to do the division test. Our next session will review these concepts as well as look at the greatest common factor and mean, median, and mode. We are looking to interpret graphs and data next week. She was cheering herself on, and I can tell her confidence is boosting as she goes over the material.
