If you are focusing on GMAT prep, Varsity Tutors can help you get started in a Boulder GMAT course that offers you the guidance and structure you need. The Graduate Management Admission Test, also known as the GMAT, is a major step you'll take in your graduate career and first move into business school. It doesn't matter if you're a student or already in the workforce; you already know your first goal is to attend the school of your choice. You know you may need to take this test is part of that, but you need to know how to get started.
If you're looking for additional help in the GMAT and want to review or focus on current studies, a Boulder GMAT prep course is a useful solution. Choosing this type of help allows you to work in an online class with other students while being led by an expert instructor. GMAT courses can tell you not only how to improve your skills, but also what the test looks like.
The score you get on the GMAT is something many MBA programs take into consideration for admission, such as the one at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The test is comprised of four sections and gives business schools insight as to how you could perform if put in similar situations. Knowing this, it's important to make the most of your time spent on studying for the test so you can put your best foot forward.
What can a Boulder GMAT class help me review?
The GMAT covers four separate sections. These include Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing Assessment. When you take the exam, all questions will be presented as multiple-choice, with the exception of one essay question. Because there are so many different skills you'll utilize when taking the exam, it's important to cover each section so you'll know what to prepare for.
The Verbal Reasoning section has 36 multiple-choice questions that need to be answered in 65 minutes. These questions both deal with reading comprehension and the ability to apply critical reasoning. This shows prospective schools how well you understand, interpret, and infer questions from passages. The critical reasoning questions take a closer look at your abilities to construct and evaluate an argument.
Quantitative Reasoning is the next section, offering 31 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 62 minutes or less. These questions help schools understand how you use graphic data interpretation, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning. Questions for this section focus on data sufficiency and problem-solving. Here, you'll demonstrate how you use analytical reasoning and logic while recognizing data relevancy.
Next is Integrated Reasoning, where you'll solve various difficult problems by using data provided to you. There are 12 questions that must be solved in 30 minutes, often with more than one response. This demonstrates how you can use data to organization and compare something, along with more than one source to solve a problem. Schools can see how you choose to make a decision with this information, and if that decision is reliable.
Finally, you'll take the Analytical Writing Assessment. This portion is 30 minutes long, during which you will examine an argument and critique it. Schools can see how you use a combination of thinking critically with your command of the English language. Crafting arguments, developing and organizing the argument, and crafting a response contribute to your overall score in this section.
How can Boulder GMAT courses help me feel ready?
GMAT courses offer friendly, helpful teamwork that takes place in an online environment. If you're still finishing your last year of undergraduate studies and want to get a jump-start or you're currently out in the working world, it's safe to say that a busy schedule is the norm either way. With this flexible online class, you'll find Boulder GMAT courses that start every week. You can even choose how long you'd like them to be, ranging from classes that last two weeks or a whole month. All courses are held in a virtual classroom, meaning you can cut out the commute time and focus on learning.
After signing up for a Boulder GMAT class, you'll get the chance to work in a live environment with the other students. This allows you to ask your instructor questions just as you would with an in-person class. That means if you're having trouble figuring out how to study for the Verbal Reasoning portion, you can ask your instructor and get feedback and suggestions from them as well as other students. This method of learning makes it possible to develop new study habits, learn about different ways to approach a problem, and figure out what areas you want to spend more time studying. For example, to do your best on the Quantitative Reasoning sections, you could be working on your mathematical skills. If you still need additional help, you can always reach out to your instructor for individual attention.
