Session Summaries by Accounting Tutors

Accounting Tutoring review by Cole in Worcester, MA
We reviewed compound interest and future value. The student mostly just needed review and practice before her final tomorrow. She is always an enthusiastic learner and a pleasure to work with! I offered some shortcuts in her calculation to help her save time on her final exams. The steps still offer all of the needed calculations, but are a little more conducive to a time limit. The student is planning on reviewing the remainder of her course material prior to the start of her final. The student has done a great job overcoming the challenge of being a visually impaired learner in a class that has so many visual prompts. I'm really proud of her and I think she's going to do a great job on her final exam. Nice work!

Accounting Tutoring review by Aaron in Worcester, MA
The concepts covered today are extremely difficult to understand and the student did a wonderful job maintaining focus to comprehend the material. Mostly, we covered Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). We went over the 7 classical assumptions, linear models, error terms, coefficients, regression analysis, populations model vs. sample model, expected value or mean, serial correlation, variance, heteroskedasticity, standard normal distribution, collinearity and multicollinearity, and more. This was a demanding session, and the student did great to get through it all.

Accounting Tutoring review by Elnora in Worcester, MA
The student and I had a great initial session. We focused on a chapter related to internal controls and cash management, and I provided assistance as he completed several multiple-step questions that covered the concepts of internal control, and also the role of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. He also successfully completed additional problems that required the identification of operating cash flows, and the completion of the bank reconciliation process. He did an excellent job! Finally, we briefly reviewed a problem from a previous chapter that involved adjustments, and I provided assistance in order to figure out how several corrections could be made.

Accounting Tutoring review by Joseph in Worcester, MA
We covered her Chapter 4 on hypothesis testing. At first, she was not seeing the similarity with what she already knew from intro statistics, and then she started to get the hang of it and see where she knew the econometrics (she picked up on joint hypothesis testing quickly). She did well, and this will prompt her to finish reviewing the chapter.
