I am a freshman at Rutgers Honors Program studying computer science. I have 3 years of experience in math tutoring, with kids from 2nd grade all the way up to 10th grade. I tutor math, physics, and computer science. I love the feeling of slowly leading a student to the solution and witnessing that ah-ha moment when they finally get it. I believe that any student can understand any concept given proper guidance and education.

I am a biology geek who has always wanted to be a teacher. I currently teach non-majors biology at Everett Community College and volunteer at the Seattle Aquarium. I have hundreds of hours of experience teaching biology and tutoring standardized tests.I completed my undergraduate work in biology at Macalester College and earned a PhD in Microbiology at the University of Washington. I am also interested in pedagogy (the study of how students learn and how to teach) and regularly participate in pedagogy journal clubs and conferences. While I don't have any formal training in marine biology, I've picked up a lot of information during my time at the aquarium and love to discuss it. (Be careful, if you ask about octopuses, it may be hard to get me to stop!)Outside of biology, I likes to make things. My hobbies include crochet, dressmaking, and chocolatiering, though I have my eye on taking up welding as well. I also boulder, do yoga, and have recently taken up aerial silks. In cold weather, I like to curl up inside with a book. In warm weather, I like to curl up under a tree with a book. On vacation, I am usually found curled up somewhere with a book.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2015.In 2020 I finished my Master of Science in Biology.I began my career in education in 2016 as a long term substitute. That year I covered for 8th grade science and math, and 7th grade ELL for about six weeks each.The following two years I taught 6th and 7th general science.I then moved on to teaching high school. My first year as a high school teacher I taught Earth and Space Science at the freshmen level. The second year I moved on to teach both Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology.I have a passion for helping students succeed and always want to know what learning style is best for each student so I can plan lessons that are beneficial.My favorite subject over all is anything Biology related. Within biology I am passionate about anything relating to the medical field.My current plan is to return to school for nursing. I am well educated in anatomy and physiology, nutrition, microbiology, cellular and molecular biology and genetics. I do have experience teaching Ecology, Astronomy, and Geology as well.

I am a sophomore Health Science major at James Madison University. I am an honor graduate of Williamsburg Christian Academy in Williamsburg, VA and excel in math and science. I have worked as a research technologist at Johns Hopkins Medicine and I am now a medical student at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.I have thirteen years of tutoring experience, in subjects ranging from math, test prep, Spanish, and violin. I have also traveled to Guatemala, where I was surrounded by Spanish speakers and their culture.
