I am a biology major at Stony Brook University. I will be graduating this coming December and will be applying to medical schools for next year. Since I was young science especially biology has always fascinated me. Biology is the study of life and is a science that all of us can relate to. Growing up I too struggled in grade school and would often need the help of tutors to enrich my learning experience.Throughout this journey I've had the incredible opportunity of being tutored by some of the best teachers, many of whom explained the material better than my own professors did. Each of these tutors had their own individual styles of teaching and explaining concepts, and I have tried my best to assimilate their techniques when I teach students. My approach to teaching is very eclectic as I pick and choose the best strategies and ways to help students learn the material. I served 3 semesters as a biology teaching assistant at Stony Brook where I tutored students in subjects like Cancer biology and Cellular biology. Having taken the AP Biology exam and the SAT II Biology E/M in high school I also am aware of the type of material that is being tested in high school.With every student I meet I try to get to know their unique circumstances. Having a syllabus of their course work would be helpful since it would allow me to see which topics I should be focusing on. I am very willing to help my students succeed and welcome them to email me whenever they have questions.Aside from school, I have many interests and hobbies. I have been an avid piano player for the last 12 years and performed many times for NYSSMA. I am also a practitioner of Karate which I have also been doing for about 12 years. Hello, I have my Bachelor of Arts in Sports Science, Exercise Science. After I graduated, became a Pre-School Teacher on March 25, 2015. The following ages three- to five-year-old. I have experience working with children who have autism. In 2019, I received my Substitute License from the IL State Board of Education. After three long years working in a school district as a Sub, I decided to get back into school. I had the pleasure working with the kindergartens through the fourth graders. Doing bus and lunch duty faithfully. The year 2025 is becoming much brighter for my six year old daughter and I! I will be starting online classes with cybersecurity, focusing on Sports broadcasting and this Summer going back my Masters as an Occupational Therapist. My daughter is chapter reading currently. I am most passionate about English, Reading, and Science. Education has always been a main priority for me. I will provide the basic tools for your child or children, to be successful throughout their education journey. I enjoy reading my Bible, singing, and making long lasting memories with my daughter.

My experience in education spans multiple formats such as counselor for summer research camps, teaching assistant for college courses, tutor for college courses, and dance instructor. These different positions have pushed me to broaden my perspective on how to communicate with students and address the topics they do not understand. While my educational background has more than prepared me to understand the basics of the science subjects that my students were studying, my goal as an instructor reaches beyond simply teaching the lesson; I also aim to spark my student's interests in the subject and make the lesson fun for them. I know from personal experience that learning any lesson is easier when one is interested and enjoys the learning experience. To that effect, I use concepts and analogies that relate to the students and grab their interests, and this relation may be from other topics or courses they have previously studied or an experience they come across on a daily basis. The latter is especially effective since that daily experience would serve to reinforce the lessons for the students and commit it to memory. Before attending college I studied abroad for three years. Upon returning to America I graduated summa cum ladue from Yeshiva University with a degree in Biology. In college I ran a program of over 120 college students who tutored at public schools in Washington Heights. I recruited tutors, coordinated the program with the principals of the schools, and held events to help the tutors maximize their helpfulness to the public school students. I, furthermore, have served as a tutor in the program. My hobbies include karate, tennis, and playing the mandolin.

The careers I've chosen reflect my never-ending pursuit of knowledge and service by helping others achieve their goals through education. At SUNY Purchase College, I supervised and worked closely with residential professionals and fellow students to assist in providing them with a safe learning community by creating and facilitating interactive programs. I've worked as an Administrator for a Master's program focusing on Stem Cell Biology at the University of Southern California and I've worked with medical doctors who are seeking to become specialized in their chosen field of Otolaryngology at the University of Nevada as Program Coordinator. My drive, determination, perseverance has helped me attain these career opportunities and have solidified my passion for working in higher education. Having the opportunity to work with students from different backgrounds and academic concentrations allowed me to become an individual with strong leadership and problem-solving skills paired with a prowess for professional and academic excellence.

I plan on following up my undergraduate degree with graduate studies in Virology or Immunology. As a current student, I have had to spend countless hours perfecting my study habits and working through many difficult concepts on my own. This helps immensely when it comes to tutoring, as I have personal knowledge of some of the struggles students are facing. I hope to one day become an orthopedic surgeon and specialize in sports medicine. I have always loved any type of science course and enjoy helping others understand it and become successful.I have previous tutoring experience in basic science courses such as chemistry, organic chemistry, anatomy, and biochemistry. I have also tutored in many different math subjects such as algebra, geometry, and trig. However, I have a passion for tutoring students with the ACT. By taking the time to study for this rigorous test, students can reap the benefits through academic scholarships and much more. I have tutored many different students and have been able to see them improve after each practice test.Outside of school, I am very active. I love working out and playing sports.
