Hello, my name is Shobhna and I am an incoming freshman at Michigan State University! I started tutoring elementary kids in my neighborhood by helping them understand the basics of Math and English. Further exposure to tutoring was through my high school's National Honors Society chapter (NHS). Our chapter's mission was to provide underprivileged members of society care packages with medical and hygiene supplies at homeless shelters and tutor students who had minimal access to academic help outside school. In NHS, I tutored kids in Math, English, Chemistry, and Spanish 1. Not only did I enjoy teaching these subjects, but I also completed these classes with High Honors. Since graduating high school, I'm further motivated to minimize the disparities in education among disadvantaged communities.
