I've always loved learning, but I often needed someone to remind me why. I want to be that person for other students. I've taught Spanish in America and English in Panama, India, and Morocco. I was a part of the esteemed Arabic Flagship Program at the University of Oklahoma where I tutored students in various dialects of Arabic until I graduated with degrees in Arabic and Linguistics. My favorite subjects to teach are anything related to language, e.g., reading, writing, speaking...if it has words, I'm excited! Linguistics is my passion. i also love teaching the study and organizational skills i struggled to learn from scratch in college. I know from experience as a neurodivergent student that a patient teacher and a personalized approach makes all the difference in the learning experience. I work to make all material exciting and achievable for each student so they feel that they are truely learning, and they enjoy it. I'm a firm believer in the benefits of life-long learning, and the earlier a student finds a passion for it, the more fulfilling their life will be, but that it's never too late, either.When I'm not studying languages, i enjoy reading, the violin, climbing (anything and everything), and creating the perfect habitat for each of the bugs and critters i catch. If you ever see me running, something is chasing me. I much prefer yoga.

I am a German-American who has found a passion in knowledge. My greatest passions are found in music: guitar, violin, singing; and language: English, German, Italian, Spanish. Throughout the years, I have stretched my mind across the vast plains of many subjects, including psychology, phylosophy, viticulture, history, literature, business sciences, and more. I am not, however, always to be found behind a book or in a library. I have been the captain of my old baseball and basketball teams, won table tennis tournaments, and enjoy billiards, golf, swimming, biking, and other athletic activities. After all, a healthy body helps support a healthy mind.In terms of experience, I have tutored people from ages 10-22 for about five years in German, English grammar, English composition, study skills, mathematics, guitar, and violin.I currently study Entrepreneurship and International Business at Johnson & Wales University. I enjoy every second there and my joy is depicted in my GPA (4.0/4.0). I learn because I sincerely want to; knowledge IS power, and I feel myself strengthen every day. I believe that everybody can strengthen themself if one simply applies sincere will with effort. I am a patient, energetic, knowledgeable college graduate in my gap year between completing my undergraduate Biology BS degree in 2 years and attending medical school. I am passionate about learning and teaching STEM topics and getting students to reach their goals. I have extensive experience about the application process into medical programs and colleges and would love to help students with their dream schools!

I am eager to help students thrive because I'm still very much a student myself, and will be for the foreseeable future. Though I enjoyed my time as an undergraduate student in Literature, and learned quite a bit during my time at Vanderbilt, there's still more work to be done. The SAT and ACT tests can be an extremely stressful event for students, especially first time test-takers, so I do my best to go beyond the material covered by the tests and prepare students for the experience of taking the test itself, so that when the day comes, they are confident and prepared to tackle whatever challenges rise up before them.The way that I teach generally falls in line with the way that I learn best myself: discussion and collaborative explanation. When approaching difficult material, lecturing at a student leaves much to be desired. I aim to help them arrive at conclusions and realizations on their own by building on material with which they are already comfortable and confident, and working together towards a solution rather than giving the answer and expecting it to simply be memorized.Outside of academic pursuits, I enjoy many creatively-focused hobbies, primarily writing, acting, and even juggling! I am thankful for the opportunity in my time at Vanderbilt to combine all three into an annual show that not only brought smiles to the faces of a campus, but had the chance to reach out into the Nashville community and make a difference.

I did not learn about my love for Biology and my appreciation for the sciences until my undergraduate career. After finishing my B.S. in Biology, I pursued further graduate coursework at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. There, I studied Molecular and Human Biology. Performing research, assisting classes, and organizing seminars during graduate school inspired me to pursue a temporary job as an adjunct professor upon returning to the U.S. Teaching here in New York City has better enhanced my pedagogical skills and has taught me a great deal about the differences between group learning scenarios and one-on-one tutoring sessions. I am ever committed to better enhancing your understanding of the biological and chemical sciences.

I am proactive, organized, and alert. Additionally, I am independent, logical, and observant. I am an avid reader and like mysteries, thrillers, science, politics, psychology, and about everything else that catches my eye. I draw and love music of all kinds especially classical and rock.
