I am passionate about learning and enjoy working with students of all ages. I studied Economics and International Relations at American University as an undergraduate, and I am currently studying Ecology at Columbia University. I have tutored for a number of different non-profits over the years, and I enjoy working with all subjects-especially related to writing and math. I strive to meet student where they are and find a strategy that works best for them, involving positive reinforcement and creative approaches to learning concepts. Outside of academia, I love everything that's involved in being outdoors. Biking around the city, ultimate frisbee, and hiking are some of my favorite activities. I strive to not only prepare students to exceed academic standards but also to be critical thinkers and curious, well-informed human beings. I recently completed a dual degree at Indiana University and moved to New York to take a gap year before beginning graduate school. As a scholarship student at IU, I majored in economics, cognitive science, and piano performance. Outside of tutoring, you can find me playing or teaching piano, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching TED talks, running, or trying a new food or cooking technique.

I am a current undergraduate student at Tufts University pursuing a double major in economics and history, with a minor in physics. My favorite subjects to tutor are history and english because I love to write, so I really enjoy the analytic facets of these classes. I have been an English tutor for four years, a history tutor for one year, and an ACT tutor for nine months. Some of my other experience includes teaching summer classes in South Africa, and volunteering as a caretaker at orphanages in Poland. Outside of tutoring, I row crew in Boston, write poetry, and love walking my two adorable dogs. I am fluent in English, German, French, and I am currently learning Russian. I am a graduate from Cornell University where I received a bachelor's degree in Biological Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. For several years, I have always had a passion for tutoring/teaching others around me whether they were children, classmates or adults much older than I. From my studies, my favorite subjects to help with were Mathematics and Physics; they are closely integrated with each other and personally it is rewarding when my students understand concepts that they initially struggled with. As for my past tutoring experience, I volunteered teaching GED courses around the Brooklyn area. I also took up private one to one sessions with locals who requested my help in subjects. Currently I am teaching an after-school program where I show middle school students STEM related topics through hands on activities. I am also volunteering with SAT Math through Brooklyn College on Saturdays and I am a part time bartender around the Park Slope area. When I am not busy working, I enjoy cycling, playing video games, and just kicking it back with friends.

I graduated in May 2020 from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. I obtained my bachelors degree in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish in just 3 years due to my advanced track. Given that chemistry was my major, I frequently tutored my other pre-med classmates in their chemistry coursework. My final year I acted as a TA for the biology class I had taken my freshman year. Although I love alone time for my own hobbies, I value getting to know people on a personal level. For this reason my teaching approach is based highly on the individual I am working with. I like to get know my students style of learning and try to make it more meaningful through a personal connection. I believe less in memorization and more in creating foundations of knowledge that one can continue to build upon and rely on in moments of doubt. As your tutor, I would always be open to constructive criticism with the goal of creating the most comfortable and productive learning environment for you. While languages and language itself are my first love, I enjoy working in a variety of other subjects as well.As a student and a teacher, I prefer working from the fundamentals to memorizing facts; I feel that understanding how and why something works is a more interesting and effective method, and helps nurture critical thinking, an essential life skill.I look forward to helping students work towards reaching their full potential.
