I'm passionate about teaching and tutoring in writing and literature, and helping the subject feel more accessible to everyone. I have B.A. degrees in secondary education and Spanish from UNLV. I also have previous experience teaching various levels of Spanish at the high school level. As a tutor, I can help students with all aspects of Spanish language proficiency including vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I can customize tutoring lessons to accommodate different learning styles at all levels from beginner to advanced to help students reach their full potential.

I graduated from Wheaton College with a degree in Music History with a minor in Mathematics. I have a track record of excellence in academia overall, and have done well in math courses well beyond calculus. I have tutored mathematics and taught voice lessons on a freelance basis for the past year. I have enjoyed the experience of helping students achieve their goals. Over the summer, I helped an adult student dramatically improve her math skills on very short notice, which allowed her to pass a job-related math test.

I am a graduate of The University at Buffalo. I received my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural and Geotechnical design. I currently work as a Structural Design Engineer which makes math part of my daily life. I worked as a Math and Physics tutor at the Westchester Community College for about a year and a half and I have gained a lot of experience working there. My main focus is to get the students interested in the subject they’re studying which makes learning the material a lot more efficient. My philosophy is to keep the students motivated and help them develop critical thinking skills by using as many real life examples as possible. I spend most of my spare time reading, hiking, swimming and playing basketball.

I am a recent graduate of Colgate University, where I completed a Master of Arts in Teaching and graduated magna cum laude. I also recently spent over a year in West Virginia where I led high-school and college students on service trips where they did home construction work. I have taught writing workshops for young people at Newark Academy in Livingston, N.J., and the Young Writers' Workshop at Colgate University. I am an avid reader and writer and love to share my enthusiasm for reading and writing with young people.

I am a graduate of University College Dublin, Ireland, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. After graduation I worked in Biotechnology research in California for a number of years. I eventually became a Technical Trainer responsible for training an international workforce of biotechnology instrumentation engineers. I then returned to school and earned a Masters in Arts with a specialization in Mathematics Education. I have experience working as a Mathematics teacher in public schools in San Francisco and private schools in New York.I see Mathematics as a tool that enables people to establish the truth about the world around them. I hope to make my students comfortable and expert in its use. Helping people who have learning difficulties with Mathematics is my favorite part of tutoring.

I graduated from UCLA in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology. Since graduation, I have worked in the field of social services assisting families and students to self sufficiency.I have experience working with various populations, including but not limited to at risk youth, disabled adults, students with IEP, and disrupted families. I have tutored grades K-12 in all subject areas as needed such as Math, English, and Writing. Currently, I am a case manager working with at risk youth in high school, encouraging them stay in school and get to graduation. I assist them by creating individualized goals and monitoring those goals throughout the school year.I am passionate about working youth and adolescents because I truly believe when students are provided with guidance and the necessary resources to succeed, we will see them excel beyond all expectations.In my spare time, I enjoy a night in with a movie or a good book, working out, and cooking.

I believe that when someone has had the opportunity to pursue their life's calling, they have a responsibility use the knowledge and skills gained to help advance others. As a nurse in the emergency department, I gained clinical skills, critical thinking, and experience in this role. Having gained experience in Oncology, Emergency, Visiting Home Nursing, ICU, CICU. Administrative experience has been as CNO/COO and later CEO of Federally Qualified Healthcare Clinics. I love to teach! Seeing my students achieve that "Aha!" moment when new learning has occurred is my goal. Insuring that every student is satisfied with all questions answered is my objective.In addition to teaching, I enjoy sailing, kayaking, walking our beach with our dogs, golf, tennis, and curling up by the fire with a great book!

I am also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and I am familiar with preparation for standardized tests. My favorite part about tutoring is seeing my students' excitement when they learned something new or when they have come to understand a difficult concept.Through my experiences, I have learned to identify individual student's strengths and weaknesses and to tailor my teaching approach to each individual. I enjoy tutoring students and sharing my experience and study skills to help them achieve their academic goals.
