I'm entering my senior year at Case Western Reserve University. I'm happy to provide tutoring services for those interested in improving their academic performance or exam preparation. The subjects which I am most proficient include SAT Math, Algebra 1 , Algebra 2, Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Trigonometry.

I am a public policy graduate student at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.I have been working with Varsity Tutors for 7 years, and my students have demonstrated improvement in test scores and class grades across subjects.I attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon, where I studied English, and wrote a thesis on female archetypes in Victorian literature.Additionally, I worked in the Reed College admissions office during my undergraduate studies, so I have a strong understanding of what colleges look for in prospective students.

I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics as well as a B.A. in Philosophy. This fall, I will be continuing my studies at the University of Michigan as I pursue a PhD in Economics, and I hope to work as a professor in applied microeconomics after completing my degree. While economics is what I am most passionate about, I have also really enjoyed studying mathematics, which I was able to pursue extensively as an undergraduate. As a tutor, I hope not only to push my students to excel but also to help them begin to enjoy their studies as well (as difficult as that may be for high school students!). In line with my aspirations to work in higher education, I believe that education is an incredibly important and rewarding endeavor, and I look forward to watching my students succeed. In my spare time, I enjoy running, reading and cooking.

I was a program assistant and tutor for the Trio Progam at Middlesex Community College for 2 years. This program was for low-income and disability college students. I also was a TA in a math lab. I tutored Algebra 1 and 2, intermediate algebra, per-calculus and accounting.

I obtained my first Bachelor of Science in Business from East Coast Polytechnic Institute and am currently pursuing my second bachelor's degree in Psychology. As a first generation, non-traditional college student I am acutely aware of the challenges many students face on their road to self-actualization. For this reason, I am guided by a philosophy that acknowledges students in their entirety and take a holistic approach to promote student success. For the past two years, I have been working on campus as embedded peer support helping first and second year students navigate introductory courses (e.g. Introduction to Psychology and Introduction to Statistics for Behavioral Science). In this role I facilitate study groups, conduct one-on-one mentorship, and provide group and individual tutoring. Additionally, I have informally tutored and mentored students as a senior research assistant teaching research methodology and basic data science. While my background enables me to tutor several subjects, I am most passionate about assisting students with understanding psychological concepts and developing the self-efficacy and growth mindset to learn Statistics. In my spare time I like to read science fiction, stimulate my palate with yummy dishes, and play with my fur babies.

I am a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Technology Education. I have a TESOL certification from the American TESOL Institute and three years of experience teaching English abroad. I have six years of experience with remote teaching and most enjoy leading lessons in English, Literature, History and Science. I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals and will tailor my guidance to suit their individual needs.

I recently graduated from Princeton University, where I majored in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. During my time at Princeton, I took part in the peer-tutoring program, through which I tutored many students in a variety of subjects. I also worked extensively with students through an internship with the Maryland Zoo's education department. Since graduating, I have been traveling and working for an environmental nonprofit in NYC. I currently tutor in math, science, and test prep (SAT and ACT). As a tutor, I am patient and collaborative. I work with my students to help them come to the answers on their own, and I find creative and fun ways for students to think about the material in a new light.

I hold a BA in philosophy, theatre, and history from one of the top schools in the Midwest. Before that I was a national level debater at one of the top best programs in the country. Nowadays I'm a circus performer as well as a teacher/coach all around the city.

My teaching career spans from 1974 to 2013. Throughout these years I taught the elementary grades- PreK to grade 4.I have worked with students who were frustrated and angry, and some who were willing to learn. What I am happy about is that I was able to see success in my classroom by using specific strategies.I was able to impact the lives of many of my students throughout those years.One subject that I saw growth and understanding in was mathematics. In math I always used manipulatives. Students in the lower grades get a better understanding of a topic when they use hands on material. I also allowed my students to work in groups. Allowing group work in the classroom further helps students to develop skills of cooperation, sharing and appreciation of others. Journal writing can be done in all subject areas, and I also incorporated it in my classes. I also allowed peer tutoring so that students can help each other. Applying to be a tutor at this time would not only help my students but it will also help me to keep abreast of what is happening in education. I would like to be a tutor because I have the experience and the knowledge. I know I will make a difference in the life of a student who needs that extra assistance.

I hold a BFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, a MA in Education from New York University, and TOEFL certification.Understanding and mastery of learning content can be achieved by independent perseverance and attention to detail. Never give up! In my experience those students who put the most effort in and are seriously committed to achieving their learning goals, usually do.I have taught students of all ages from elementary school to adult, in the content areas of English reading, writing, grammar, TOEFL prep study, and art history to name a few. I feel that I have a very good understanding in these areas and can be helpful to potential students.
