I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate of Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, and I received my Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science and Spanish from St. Olaf College. As a physical therapist, I love being able to use my knowledge of the human body every day while working one-on-one with patients as they continue their healing process. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Anatomy & Physiology. In my experience helping students prepare for tests or projects, I enjoy sharing analogies or examples that help solidify concepts and having an individualized approach to help students grasp material in a way that works for them. My goal is to try to impart an appreciation of knowledge and a love of learning to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling to Europe and Central America, delving deeper into the Spanish language, sports (especially soccer and hockey), and playing piano.

I'm a proud Colerain High School and University of Cincinnati alum who completed a Masters' degree in physics in 2016. My interests outside of academia include traveling, BMX, drumming, music, skiing, photography, videography, and anything adventurous. Throughout my four years of graduate school, I worked as a Teaching Assistant, which gave me the pleasure of teaching physics courses (lab and recitation), tutoring, and assisting in lecture classrooms. Since then, my tutoring experience has expanded to include a variety of subjects in science and math.I've always pondered why and how do things work the way they do, and I gladly help others do the same. I nurture confidence in learning by helping the student figure out what questions to ask in order to piece information together to solve problems. This directly benefits the student's approach in the future. When students have conceptual trouble, I reword definitions and use comparisons to get the point across and make it stick. I cater to the student's learning style and refuse to give up until better understanding of the material is achieved. I find the breakthroughs my students have when they grasp concepts to be personally rewarding.

I'm passionate about helping students because I enjoy mathematics and like to put my interest to good use. I tutored middle and high schoolers during my four years of high school, helped students go over tests in calculus, and taught tricks for mental math as captain of the Math UIL Number Sense team my junior and senior years of high school. I graduated from Cypress Ranch High School in 2020 and am currently pursuing a Mathematics degree and Computer Science Certificate at the University of Texas at Austin. I tutor many types of math, and I enjoy them all equally because I like the tricks that can be used in each subject. I approach tutoring as a way to get to know the student and help them where they need it. I like to use icebreakers to make them feel more comfortable, then understand their approach to solving problems and figure out how I can help.

I am also a member of Alpha Kappa Delta (the international honors society for Sociologists and Sociology majors), as well as an alumni of Phi Theta Kappa (the international honor society of 2 year colleges). Technical writing for clients and regulators has kept my formal English concise, clear, and correct.My joy is teaching math and English you'll actually use - not just what's on the next test.
