I love teaching. I think it is important to love and enjoy what are you doing. As a teacher, it is important to win the confidence of your students so they will feel comfortable asking questions in the class. Playing and having fun is exciting when teaching. I am a master Industrial & Operations Engineering graduate (Lean Six Sigma and Supply chain management concentration) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Currently, I work at the University of Michigan Health System - Ann Arbor as a Management Engineer Consultant.Teaching has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mother being a French teacher, it was no surprise that I enjoyed teaching growing up.My career goal is getting my PhD after acquiring some years of experience and becoming a University faculty. To deepen my knowledge in the education industry, I actively started pursuing learning opportunities in these areas. I worked as a teacher's assistant throughout my undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Michigan, took an active role in an Industrial Engineering Honor Society (Alpha Pi Mu) in which I tutored and advised Industrial Engineering peers and was part of the University of Michigan Boxing Team and thought peers boxing Technics. In addition, my current position at the University of Michigan Health System has provided me with exceptional experience in this field. "When one teaches, two learn." Everyone learns differently, therefore I constantly enjoy finding new and creative ways to help my students understand the material that they find challenging. My goal during each tutoring session is to make each learning experience educational yet fun. I hope to build a trusting relationship with my student so they feel comfortable asking me any questions or concerns they might have regarding the subject. The only stupid question is the one not asked!I graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in Brain and Cognitive Science. As an avid believer in the importance of education, I strive to apply this in all aspects of my life. During high school, I participated in a program called the READ Alliance where I taught struggling elementary school students how to read. While in college, I provided homework assistance to Turkish refugee students. My support in education is one reason why I currently aspire to be an Occupational Therapist. The goal of an Occupational Therapist is not just to treat the client but to educate them on the importance of safety and the reasoning behind every step. I enjoy motivating and observing the progress of individuals as they strive toward their goal. I am also interested in areas outside of academics. In my spare time, I enjoy various things ranging from playing sports to reading. However, I particularly love finding the hidden treasures of NYC, such as, “hole in the wall” restaurants and undiscovered breathtaking areas.

I believe the role of an educator, whether as a teacher or administrator, is to facilitate learning and growth by presenting information in a variety of ways that create interest in each individual student and in the class as a whole. Information that is portrayed in ways that are interesting and relevant to students is more meaningful and has a greater likelihood of being absorbed and retained. Through this instruction and example, students can follow their curiosity and exercise their imaginations and ideals as they develop as scholars, artists and athletes. I believe that progressive education is the ideal facilitator for this process of personal growth, and democratic participation of students in the classroom.I personally have a passion for learning and part of my role as an educator is to project that to my students, encouraging them to seek the same for themselves. I expect students to be accountable for their own efforts both in and outside of the classroom. Since students come from all sorts of backgrounds, cultures and upbringings, lessons and classroom exercises should be presented in a variety of different ways to meet their different learning styles. In the modern age where technology is constantly changing, educators like myself can use devices such as smartboards, projectors and other items, to better enhance the learning atmosphere inside the classroom. Studying both Spanish when I was an Undergraduate, and now Liberal Arts Studies as a Graduate student, allows me to better present a hands on and visual learning environment inside the classroom so that students can make the most of their academic experience. As an educator, my goal is to help students develop a strong interest for learning that they can carry with them through the rest of their educational careers. I believe finding the right balance of instruction in the classroom is attainable by a combination of organized planning, hands on activities and strong motivation to be a part of the learning process.
