I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the College of St Scholastica, where I was a McNair Scholar and member of the men's soccer team. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University. In the past I have worked with undergraduate students in a variety of sciences including general chemistry, genetics, and physics. I look forward to working with students of all ages and expanding my subject areas to topics outside the sciences, such as mathematics and test preparation (ACT, MCAT, et al). I firmly believe education is the key to success and am fortunate to have the opportunity to help students achieve their academic goals. Beyond tutoring, I enjoy running, going to the beach, listening to music, and cheering on my Minnesota Vikings.

I taught there for 3 years and am excited to be transitioning to a high school setting in Manhattan, where I will be teaching Living Environment.I have tutored most students in reading, writing and math, but also gained experience preparing older students for the Earth Science, Living Environment and Chemistry Regents exams. My favorite subject to tutor is Science because that is my content specialty in teaching and I enjoy facilitating students' appreciation for the subject. As a teacher and a tutor I feel that questioning the student is of the utmost importance. It is important that students' develop a thorough understanding of the topic, and can demonstrate that understanding with detailed explanations. In addition, I want my students' to develop as learners through finding and using resources to further their understanding of different academic topics.Outside of teaching and tutoring I am an avid sports fan and music connoisseur. I am a recently graduated MD pursuing a career in medical research. I also have a biochemistry, mathematics and computer programming background. I have benefited greatly from many different teachers, tutors and mentors throughout my lifetime and enjoy benefiting others in this same way. In addition to tutoring students here, I teach Sunday school as well as judge and mentor students for science fair with my husband.

I am a graduate of Saint Xavier University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I have also obtained my endorsement in ESL, as I grew up in a bilingual household. Upon graduation in 2019, I have worked at two Montessori schools, both located in Chicago. Working closely with a range of age groups (preschool, Kindergarten, and some elementary grades) both in-person and remotely, have given me a unique perspective as to how children learn differently. My favorite subject to tutor is English since I believe forwarding the knowledge to second language learners is a gift. My approach to teaching is to gauge the learner's interests to make it as engaging and fun as possible. The learning process becomes unique when the teacher and student form a unique bond to meet educational needs. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, exercising, and appreciating nature.

Most of my experience has been as a classroom teacher for middle school English/ language arts, but I have also taught marine biology, American history and problem solving. While I have only lived in two states, I have traveled to 45 out of 50. Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Ohio are still on my list. Travel has always been important to me because I feel that it enhances my teaching. When I was in high school, I joined the math club to engage in mathematics in a way that was non-competitive and fun. I look at practicing math as a way to keep my mind sharp. When I transitioned into college, I realized I was able to become a math tutor and have the opportunity to assist others to face their math hurdles and improve drastically. Now, I have my heart set on becoming a teacher and future professor.Outside of mathematics, I like to watch and play basketball, watch movies and anime, spend quality time with my dear family and make people smile when I am not too serious.
