I have been a certified teacher for 5 years and employed by Clear Creek Independent School District. I teach high school science and have taught integrated physics and chemistry, physics, pre-ap level physics, and astronomy. I have also taught SAT and PSAT/NMSQT prep classes on campus. While I have taught a variety of different subjects, my strength lies in physics. I believe I'm a great tutor because I am patient and able to explain some of the more difficult concepts in physics in a way students can understand. I feel I can relate to students well and make learning fun and interesting.

I am currently attending the University of Washington, Seattle, pursuing my Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry with ACS certification and a minor in mathematics. Hoping to research and synthesize medicine/pharmaceuticals to treat blood disorders.I previously earned my Associate's of Arts through Pierce College, with strong focus in chemistry, biology, and mathematics.I tutored for three years through Pierce College, focusing on chemistry, biology, and mathematics. I was a mentor in this position, and trained new tutors that were hired for similar subjects. I created multiple resources specified to organic chemistry due to the ratio of students to tutors to provide assistance.Through Pierce College, I also was hired as a TA for two years for general and organic chemistry. I was a mentor to this position as well, training newly hired staff members on ways to conduct group activities to promote learning and engagement with sciences.I thoroughly enjoy tutoring chemistry, because it is fascinating to consider how such small interacting pieces of matter can be so specific and have dynamic changes in properties with seemingly minor changes. This is especially evident when studying stereochemistry, comparing medicines that can be life-saving or toxic based on the orientation of the molecule.My hobbies include drawing, music, jogging, painting, and finding new places to nap.I thoroughly enjoy videogames that engage critical thinking skills, strategy and planning (not a fan of Call of Duty or anything along those lines...).Available to tutor in person near Everett or Seattle.

The children who learn a subject that they never thought they could learn is the most wonderful moment in teaching. Seeing the students succeed and go on to the next grade with confidence is why I became a teacher. I like to integrate technology into my teaching. I find that this is important because most students have this technology at home and are comfortable with it. I feel that if used right, technology can help students learn. Working closely with students is very rewarding not only for me as a teacher but also for the students. When students get the extra attention that they need, they are able to do wonderful things that they didn???t think they would be able to do. I believe that every student can succeed!
