I am a graduate cum laude of Clark University, with a CELTA certification in teaching English from Cambridge University. I was born and raised in Queens, attended Hunter College High School in Manhattan, and now live in Brooklyn, so I know the city very well. I have years of experience teaching and tutoring a wide range of subjects and students.My expertise lies in two main areas. Firstly, I teach ESL to adults and teenagers. I have experience both teaching in front of large classrooms and intensive one-on-one tutoring. I think this flexibility and dedication to making school work as easy as possible for my students is my strongest attribute as a tutor.I am available to work up to thirty hours per week. Friday through Sunday I would generally be free to tutor at any time; on Mondays, I am available during the day, and on Wednesdays, I am available from mid-afternoon (starting around three) through the evening. I am usually not available on Tuesdays or Thursdays. I would not need to take any month off.

The students loved me even though I wasn't that much older than them (they were middle school students). After college I spent a year in Beijing and tutored adults in English and Chinese. In 2007 I taught a GRE class at Baruch College in Manhattan. In 2007 I began working on Wall Street while volunteering after work. Most recently from 2012-2014 I was a volunteer tutor at the Fresh Air Fund in midtown Manhattan, where I worked with inner city middle school students after school on a one-on-one basis (two hour sessions once to twice a week).I love tutoring and I am comfortable tutoring all subjects ranging from Math, English, Foreign Languages (beginner to advanced Mandarin or French, beginner Spanish), Social Studies, History, Science and test-preparation.

Since graduating in 2011, I've taught numerous ACT, SAT, AP US History and World History classes, and developed a teaching style that strives to maximize student outcomes. I also consult startups and nonprofits with their digital products, most recently in Lagos, Narobi, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
