I was educated in China and the United States. Having taken many mathematics courses in both countries, I learned many ways to solve math problems by using strategies learned in both cultures. Therefore my background, in both learning and teaching math, is very strong.

As an instructor, I believe that mastery is best served when students can find their stride. A tutor, or any instructor for that matter, should not only clarify difficult concepts, but help encourage an interest in the subject studied overall. Finding the best way to develop that interest begins with determining how best to grapple with difficulties.
