The student was learning about the kidneys and excretion. The kidneys and excretions are a little more complicated than some other topics in bio so we took our time and reviewed the chapter thoroughly. We also watched two videos explaining the anatomy and physiology of the kidneys and another on how the kidney filters. The student grasped the concepts very well. We went over countercurrent flow and also how excretion differs in other organisms. We went over protonephridia, metanephridia, and Malpighian tubules.

We went over the anatomy of the oropharynx, nasopharynx, and the laryngopharynx. When then moved onto the lung fields and then touched on alveolar exchange. We will continue on respiration next session. He was picking up the information well and I suggested making lists and road maps to learn the anatomy.
