Today we did more work on her AP calc prep book. She still is doing well with volumes of revolution. I noticed that she needs work on related rates and slope fields, as well as Riemann sums with tables, so we will do some work on that next time we meet.

Tutoring review by Diana in Chelsea, MA
This was the first session with the student and it went really well. Before having the session I assigned for him to work on a Sequences and Series problem set. During the session I explained to him the concept of sequences and series while I had him work on practice problems to assess understanding. We also reviewed his take home quiz. By the end of the lesson he was able to understand and solve the problems on his own using the correct formulas.

Tutoring review by Aidan in Chelsea, MA
Today we covered the introduction to definite integrals. The subject material itself is very light, so he was understanding the material well before the session. We reviewed some problems of this topic just to make sure he was understanding these problems, and we confirmed that he was. He also recently had a test. After going through integrals, we went over some of the problems he missed on his test, and we found what went wrong on each one. He has a better understanding of those types of problems now.

Tutoring review by Sumaiya in Chelsea, MA
Student 1 struggles with finding the main idea and inference questions. Once I ask him to tell me his version of the main idea, he picks the correct answer most near what he said. Student 2 does well in math. He needs to learn how to do arithmetic without a calculator. He needs to refresh on line intercept properties. Both boys needs to learn new vocabulary words on a daily basis. We will continue to address these areas in future sessions.
