Chemistry Tutoring review by Kory in Quincy, MA
Worked on math and chemistry today. The student seemed to have a good understanding of probability so we worked on deriving equations for NPR and ncr. As for chemistry, we worked on equilibrium constants. While she had some trouble at first with moles reacted vs moles remained. However, when she used the ICE tables she was able to solve the questions without any trouble. In addition, we worked on the conceptual ideas of the equilibrium constants. Keep up the great work!

Chemistry Tutoring review by Maxwell in Quincy, MA
In this session we continued with the SAT Critical Reading section. Instead of doing sentence completion and correction exercises, which we had covered in the last session, we focused on reading comprehension. I gave the student a reading comprehension section to complete while I came up with some sample questions of my own about a paper that I had written when I was an undergraduate. We then went over his responses to the reading comprehension section on the practice test, and discussed them at length. I made sure to point out the patterns to be aware of in terms of how the answer choices are constructed and what to look for in selecting a potential answer. We discussed strategies for reading the passage and referring back to it when answering the questions. After this exercise (to which we devoted a majority of the session), we went over the sample questions that I had prepared that related to my paper. We took a few minutes to review these before the session ended.
