Hi, I'm Aarzu! I'm currently an undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University, studying biochemistry and computer science. Since I was in elementary school, I have been making efforts to learn and understand mathematical concepts at more advanced levels through self studying and classes outside of school. I also have a lot of experience tutoring kids of all ages in math. I tutored at my local Russian School of Mathematics as well as at my high school through the National Honor Society. I also have experience tutoring high schoolers in chemistry.
I love finding ways to explain complicated concepts in simpler ways because not only is it rewarding to help others gain a deeper understanding of a subject I am so passionate about, but because it gives me an opportunity to understand the concept at a deeper level.
Aside from my experience tutoring kids in both simple and advanced math concepts, I also have the grades and test scores to indicate my knowledge of the material. I received an 800 both on the SAT II Math Level 2 Exam and the math portion of the SAT. I also received a 5 on the AP calculus exam. I was an active member of my high school's competitive math team and was also the captain as an upperclassman.
I truly love working with students and finding the most effective way to help them understand the material at hand. I am very patient and I believe that it is important to highlight how far a student have come, rather than just how much they have left to learn. I want to provide the most benefit to students that I can, so feel free to let me know if there is something you think I could do better. Feel free to contact me at any time!
