I tend to focus first on the critical thinking and problem solving behind a subject and then start focusing on individual problems.

I am a PhD student in Civil Engineering and have more than 7 years of teaching experience.... My philosophy of teaching evolved from many years of teaching experience. As I reflect on my beliefs regarding teaching and learning, I find that my mission as a teacher is threefold: to promote positive learning; to spark learner enthusiasm for learning; and to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

While simply getting through the next test is fine for the short term; properly learning Fundamentals and underlying ideas will both help current struggles and facilitate nurturing self teaching in the long run. My aim as a tutor is to help you learn how to learn; and then learn how to teach yourself.
