I am a graduate student in Educational Psychology at North Carolina State University. I have taught, tutored and coached students at different levels in a variety of settings. Currently, I teach part-time in the Psychology department at North Carolina Central University and in the School of Health Sciences at Kaplan University. I have experience as a tutor-mentor with student-athletes at a university; which is essential academic coaching. Also, I have taught academic study skills to undergraduate students.
I have been successful at encouraging and empowering students who were having academic difficulties by teaching them how to rely on the strengths of the learning styles, time-management, reading methods, note-taking methods, SMART goal setting, celebrating successes, and navigating challenges. I am extremely organized and energetic. I also know how to be empathetic while maintaining high expectations.
