With experience working for a diverse range of students, my teaching philosophy is that patience, expertise, and enthusiasm are essential to the learning process. I believe that anything can seem easy if it's presented in the right way, at the right pace. If I can make a student interested in a topic and engage with their learning style, learning happens much faster and more effectively, and doesn't feel like work. I endeavor to interest students in any topic (but especially math) by giving them a sense of a larger context. In particular, I love to bring college-level math concepts to students in a way anyone can understand, which often demonstrates WHY the math they're doing matters. It also shows that math can be just plain cool, which I don't think our curricula prioritize enough.Besides teaching, I enjoy practicing parkour and tricking (acrobatic martial arts), playing video games, and reading fiction.

I have been a professional tutor since January 2016, but I was always the one asked to lead study groups. Since Elementary school I've been known as the person in class to clarify concepts that were unclear during the lecture. I work well with all age groups, and have found that individual, personalized approaches work best for each student. I love to learn and I am excited to help others find their love for education as well.

Yes, Varsity Tutors connects students from across Chandler's 99 schools and all 17 school districts in the area. Whether your student attends a public school, charter school, or private institution, we can match them with tutors who understand the specific curriculum and academic standards they're working with.
With Chandler's average student-teacher ratio of 16.7:1, many students benefit from personalized 1-on-1 instruction to fill gaps and accelerate learning. Varsity Tutors connects students with expert tutors who can focus entirely on their individual learning style, pace, and specific challenges—something that's difficult in a traditional classroom setting.
Tutors who work with Chandler students understand Arizona's academic standards and how they're applied across the district. Whether your student is preparing for state assessments, working toward grade-level proficiency, or tackling advanced coursework, tutors can tailor instruction to align with what's expected in Arizona schools.
During the first session, the tutor will assess your student's current understanding, learning style, and specific goals. They'll discuss what's working well in the classroom and where your student needs extra support, then create a personalized plan to address those areas and build confidence.
Chandler students seek tutoring across a wide range of subjects, with math and reading comprehension being particularly common in elementary grades, while algebra, geometry, and standardized test prep dominate in middle and high school. We also connect students with tutors in science, English, foreign languages, and AP/honors courses.
Pricing varies based on the tutor's expertise, your student's subject and grade level, and how frequently you'd like sessions. Varsity Tutors works with families to find options that fit their budget—whether that's weekly sessions or intensive support during critical academic periods.
Expert tutors who work with Chandler students have strong subject knowledge and teaching experience. Many hold degrees in their subject areas, have classroom teaching backgrounds, or bring specialized expertise in standardized test prep and advanced coursework.
Simply tell us about your student's needs, grade level, and goals. Varsity Tutors will match them with a tutor who fits those requirements, and you can schedule your first session at a time that works for your family. Most families see a tutor within a few days of connecting.
