I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and have received two Bachelor of Science degrees - one in Psychology and the other in Marketing. I will be enrolling at the University of Chicago Law School in the Fall of 2014 with the goal of obtaining my JD degree and preparing for a career as a lawyer. I have tutored students of many age groups, from elementary school students in areas of math and English, to undergraduate students in economics, to college graduates preparing to take the LSAT. Due to my own recent experience in test preparation, I am especially passionate about teaching the LSAT. Unlike many graduate-level standardized tests, the LSAT contains puzzle games and logical elements that make test preparation a fun challenge. My philosophy as an instructor is to consider each student's goals and preferred pathways to learning, and to then work jointly with the student to prepare a list of goals along with a study plan geared to accomplish those goals. There is no "one size fits all" approach to learning, so I attempt to accommodate each student as an individual. I try to keep lessons light, fun, and paced to suit the student's preferred speed. When I am not working with students, I enjoy long distance running, hiking, attending concerts and stand-up comedy shows, traveling, and taking my dog for long walks. She also very much enjoys the walks.

I am a third-year Psychology major at Reed College in Portland, OR. I work as a researcher in a cognitive neuroscience lab studying human perception, and I am interested in pursuing a graduate degree in neuroscience. I have always been drawn to tutoring and mentorship roles, beginning when I joined my high school's Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program as a peer tutor. Currently, I tutor other students at my college in Writing and Humanities through my college's Academic Support Center.I love helping students feel more comfortable with all aspects of the writing process, including brainstorming ideas, creating strong arguments, and outlining/revising written assignments. I also enjoy working with students on the SAT, especially the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section. In my spare time, I'm hiking, making music, and learning programming languages!

I graduated from Fordham University with a BA in International Political Economy and Spanish Language and Literature as well as a Business Minor. I have 10+ years of experience working with students as a teacher, tutor, and mentor. I returned to the US this past summer after working as an ESL Teaching Assistant for the last 3 years in Madrid, Spain. During my time in Spain, I worked on my own mastery of the Spanish language while teaching students ranging from preschool age to adults. I taught English in primary and secondary schools and also provided one to one in-home tutoring. I love teaching language because it gives the leaner many opportunities to connect with people all over the world on a different level. I feel that the discipline and dedication put forth to learn a new language shows a great deal of respect for the native speakers and their culture. I strive to make each session with my students fun, educational, and tailored to their specific goals. I like to emphasize each student's personal growth. It doesn't matter if the student is a beginner; the most important part is seeing self- improvement. In my free time I enjoy traveling, trivia games, karaoke and staying fit.

A native Texan, I grew up in Houston and attended St. Thomas High School before moving to Austin to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at The University of Texas at Austin. I graduated from UT just this May with special departmental honors in math for my 20+ hours of graduate level coursework and senior research thesis. Currently, I am a first year pure math PhD student at Boston College. While at UT I worked for three years as an undergraduate teaching assistant and grader for multiple classes, including calculus (I, II, and III) and discrete math. There are few things more enjoyable than being of service to students trying to learn difficult material and seeing the gears in their heads start to turn as their confidence builds. I truly love studying math, and I work hard to communicate the beauty in math to all of my students.Having studied math at an advanced level for a few years now, I have a privileged insight into the rich structure of mathematics. I have worked in fields that are as difficult compared to calculus as calculus is compared to basic multiplication tables. As a result, I have developed a mastery of material from high school and early college level math, and I have spent the last three years practicing the way I communicate math so that assignments stop seeming like lifeless and disconnected assortments of problems. Math is easier to learn when you see it as something to get excited about.Whether you're struggling with a course, looking to get ahead, or want to review for standardized exams, give me a shout and I'll be happy to help you start working toward your goals!

I am passionate about learning and now sharing my knowledge with other students! I love teaching and helping others succeed because I know how much of a positive difference it made in helping me reach my own personal academic and professional goals. I graduated from Noble and Greenough School in 2011 with Highest Distinction. I then attended Harvard University where I played for the Varsity Women's Soccer team for 3 years, majored in Neurobiology and minored in Global Health and Health Policy, graduating in 2015 with magna cum laude honors. I will continue my dream of becoming a doctor this summer at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA after receiving a full merit scholarship. With the medical school application process fresh in my mind, I hope to tutor students trying to score higher on the MCAT, on which I scored in the 96th percentile. I have also tutored high school students in writing, mathematics, and science. My teaching style is enthusiastic, compassionate, and focused. Let's get started!!!
