I've spent the majority of my life being a student of the financial realm; and to this day, constantly work to perfect my craft. I believe a lot of work done by financial professionals is noble, they have the ability to help others retire comfortably, protect themselves and loved ones against unfortunate circumstances, help others as well as many other goals they have. I believe there is a right way to do business and I strive to help others in their efforts to do business the right way. My expertise started long ago when I received my Bachelor's in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. During that time, I obtained my Series 7 and 66 licenses. Shortly after obtaining those licenses, I then obtained the Series 4, 24 and 53 licenses. To continue my pursuit of growth, I went on to earn my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. A short time later, I enrolled at Kansas State University and earned a Master's degree in Personal Financial Planning. Recently, I've earned the Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) designation and the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation. I've worked in several industry roles from client service, back office roles, compliance, management, personal advising and planning and retirement consulting. When I'm not focusing on my craft I enjoy spending time with my family and am an avid college and professional football fan.

I grew up in a small town in Maryland and obtained my degree in chemistry at the University of Maryland in College Park. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Houston to attend graduate school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in 2008 and have been doing research at MD Anderson Cancer Center since that time. I have always been interested in helping students master science and math. I tutored chemistry as an undergraduate and more recently have worked with high school students in a variety of math and science subjects. I always strive to set goals with the student and plan a path to meet those goals. Additionally, I always encourage students, especially young children, to be inquisitive and develop an interest in science. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student have an "ah-ha" moment when the material makes sense to them. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering with a no-kill animal rescue in Houston and spending time with my family.

I believe that every person can get better at their task if they put their mind to it. I am a fifth year teacher who has taught both social studies and language arts at the middle school level. I've tutored at the elementary and adult levels, as well. My goal as a tutor is to help and guide students where they need/want to be. I want to know that my students understand the subject or topic at hand. As a teacher already, I know how to make connections and meaning to the topic and can help guide others into understanding, as well. I am driven to helping others accomplish their goal no matter how many sessions it takes, because that is my job.

I have 24 years' experience educating and mentoring across multiple demographics, environments, and countries, working with ages from preschool, through collegiate and graduate candidates, to the senior community. Born and raised on Chicago's Southside, I resided on both coasts before relocating to Europe seven years ago. While abroad in Ireland, France, and Croatia, I worked tirelessly as a literacy and literature workshop facilitator across the Continent, a natural step from years as lead teacher, assistant teacher, tutor, and curriculum designer. I also publish my own journalism, poetry, essays, and criticism in various print and digital outlets. Please allow me to be of any service to you or your family that I can! Tutoring and academic enrichment fills me with a sense of purpose.I've tutored in philosophy, literature, phonics, ESL, reading comprehension, and English essay writing. I've assisted underserved secondary students prepare for college at university summer programs. I've designed and facilitated sociopolitical, poetry, international culture, and self-expression workshops in beleaguered communities across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Croatia, and the United States. These took place in venues as far-flung as private institutions, elementary and secondary schools, community centers and libraries, to outdoor summer festivals. I use my enthusiastic love of people to aid families and organizations, adding a stabilizing, detail-oriented, and loving presence to students' academic and personal lives. In terms of my own education, I earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, minoring in Teacher Education in Cinema Studies, from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after a four-year full scholarship. I remained a frequent Dean's List student. It is irrefutable fact that a guided boost in language, literacy, and cultural education can expand each and every life.

Hi hello! My name is Phoebe and I earned my BSA from The University of Texas at Austin and my MS from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I'm currently working towards applying to medical school and a good part of that decision is because I love the STEM field so much. Throughout my education, I've personally always learned best by teaching my friends and classmates. Science and math is tough - but I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of teachers and peers who have patiently helped me understand the material. My goal is not only to help you learn the material, but equip you with the tools you need so you can be successful in future classes!

I am a sophomore at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Art, in the hopes of going to medical school one day. I have had extensive experience tutoring students, ever since I was a high school student myself, in art, PSAT, math, and science. I am most passionate about teaching math and science, as the critical thinking skills developed from these subjects can be applied to multiple aspects of our lives. I always found myself being able to connect with students more via these subjects, as their puzzle-like nature seemed to appeal to students the most, especially once we discovered the teaching style that suited them. I witnessed that a tailored and unique teaching style shows remarkable improvements, both in the subject matter, as well as the students' general reception of academia. I strongly believe in the importance of education and its role as a critical tool, which enables individuals to improve the quality of their lives and develop lasting connections. In my free time, I like spending time with my family, doing art, running, and reading.

Adult ESL/ELL Tutor • +14 Subjects
I am a recent graduate from the University of North Texas. I obtained my BA in Biology and then returned for an MA in Linguistics, along with a Graduate Certificate in TESOL. Teaching is a passion of mine, particularly teaching English as a Second Language. I have been tutoring for over three years, and have created an ESL class at a local church to help serve my community. Many students seek help from an ESL teacher for a specific reason. It could be to raise their TOEFL scores, strengthen their communication skills for their job, or for a better quality of life while living in an English speaking country. Whatever the reason, I am here to help my students to the best of my ability. My teaching philosophy is that I aim to motivate my students, while instilling confidence. I want my students to leave my lessons with confidence in the skills that they have just gained.Aside from creating fun and interactive English lessons, my hobbies include playing the guitar, going for walks, and learning Korean. I also love music and watching foreign dramas.

Hi! I am a student studying Diplomacy and Languages at Seton Hall University in North Jersey. I have been tutoring in various capacities for the past five years of my life, spanning many subjects and skills. The pinnacle of my experience would be my senior year when I was teaching English, Science and Math in Spanish at my High School as an English Language Learner (ELL) instructor. It is always my prerogative that the people I am working with have a complete understanding of material and are fully prepared to tackle whatever challenge has been facing them. I am very outgoing and always happy to help. My favorite subjects to tutor are those that involve mathematics. A solid understanding of math basics is essential to a successful path through the world of academia. I also have a passion for the general sciences and the spanish language and culture. I look forward to assisting you in your academic journey.
