Session Summaries by Accounting Tutors

Accounting Tutoring review by Elnora in Madison, WI
Today, the student and I focused on economics! She needed assistance in order to catch up with several items that needed to be completed prior to the due dates for her accounting work. There were several discussion questions we reviewed and the topics were related to the following: game theory and optimal outcomes and choices using a decision tree model; the evaluation of a practical and/ or current situation using game theory; and the application of a specific game theory model (e.g. "playing chicken") to a practical example and the application of the Nash Equilibrium concept. She did an excellent job in relating the examples to game theory, particularly referring to the West/ Ukraine scenario (and the article was great and included a well structured decision tree model) and the Syria-US concern.

Accounting Tutoring review by Daniel in Madison, WI
In our session this evening, we covered the trade-off between labor and capital as inputs of production. This included isocost and isoquant lines, the long-run expansion of firms, and the limitation against increasing capital in the short run. We reviewed several formulas regarding the relationships between cost curves (variable costs, labor/wages, and capital/rent in particular) and their computation. We mainly followed the student's study guide, and she expressed that she feels much better prepared to both independently study for and take her upcoming exam.
