Tutoring review by Ian in McFarland, WI
This session, we continued to look at percentage increases and decreases. She is getting the hang of it, but still tends to struggle with realizing exactly what it means for a number to, say, increase or decrease by 20%. Next session I'll focus on making the idea of percentages more tangible and intuitive.

Tutoring review by Lisa in McFarland, WI
We reviewed the student's homework from last week, and she did extremely well! She felt unsure about the materials at the end of the last session, but working through the homework helped her feel confident with the information. We looked forward on her syllabus to start working on what she will work on the first week of class. This is all review for her: combining like terms, order of operations, absolute value. I gave her some practice problems for homework.

Tutoring review by Christopher in McFarland, WI
We began covering translations, rotations, and reflections. I'll be researching ways to convey the information better. She has an upcoming midterm that doesn't include this information, so she feels confident she will do fine without my help. She got an A on her last test, which covered some similarity material and triangle geometry.

We worked on another worksheet involving derivation of trigonometric functions. The student was trying to remember the derivatives of each trigonometric function. Her attitude was enthusiastic. She was asked to practice remaining problems on the worksheet and bring them to our next session.

Tutoring review by Kevin in McFarland, WI
I went over mitosis and meiosis with Student 1. I had her draw each step of mitosis and meiosis and write descriptions of what happens during those phases. I made sure to emphasize the differences between the two. With Student 2, we went over graphing exponential functions. He did very will with his homework but struggled a little bit on the word problem. I walked him through the problem, and he was able to understand it later on. I will review the material with him again tomorrow to make sure he retained the information.
