Varsity Tutors can help anyone looking to sign up for a Virginia Beach GMAT prep class or tutoring session. If you're a prospective student of Regent University School of Business and Leadership, you'll want to put your best foot forward in hopes of gaining admission. You can do this by submitting an excellent GMAT score. The GMAT is the most commonly used exam for MBA enrollment purposes and is considered in 90 percent of business school admission decisions. A Virginia Beach GMAT prep course can help give you an edge over other applicants.
The GMAT, or the Graduate Management Admission Test, is divided into four sections: the Analytical Writing Assessment, the Quantitative Reasoning section, the Integrated Reasoning section, and the Verbal Reasoning section. Each section was created to assess your critical thinking skills in a different manner. Critical thinking and problem-solving are the most important skills necessary for students wanting to excel in an MBA program. You'll have around 3.5 hours to demonstrate these skills. Whatever kind of test prep you are looking for, Varsity Tutors can help you find the kind of review that best suits your needs.
What does Virginia Beach GMAT prep cover?
Virginia Beach GMAT prep can help you in many ways. On test day, you'll be required to make a series of decisions when you arrive. You'll need to decide which schools will receive your scores, which order to take the sections in, and whether you want to record or delete the unofficial score you receive when you finish your exam. Having predetermined the section sequence or the score range you're willing to accept with your prep instructor can alleviate the stress of having to decide on the spot. In addition to these important decisions, you'll have access to guided practice opportunities for the various skills needed to do well on each section. Here we'll take a deeper look at each of the sections found on the GMAT assessment.
Let's start with the Analytical Writing Assessment. This portion of the GMAT consists of only one question which you must answer in essay form within 30 minutes. This section presents you with an argument and you must evaluate whether it has used the supporting evidence in a logical manner. You do not need to be an expert on the subject matter of the argument; you simply need to be able to appraise the evidence and produce a logically written response. You will be graded on your overall writing ability and how well you provide supporting examples to back up your assessment. These are skills you can practice under the supervision of a GMAT instructor or class.
The next section we'll talk about is the Quantitative Reasoning assessment. This part of the exam is 31 questions long and must be completed with the 62-minute time limit. This section assesses your ability to use critical thinking skills to answer quantitative problems. You will need a solid grasp of basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometric concepts for this part of the exam. You will not have access to a calculator. The complexity of the problems in this section will stem from the need to use analytical skills. You'll want to practice how to interpret graphic data and determine if you have the information needed to solve the problem to do well on this portion of the GMAT.
The next section will evaluate your Integrated Reasoning skills with 12 questions. In this half-hour assessment, you'll be required to pull data from various sources of information and determine the relevant relationships to help you solve a complex problem. This section features multi-step questions and you must get all responses correct to get credit for the question. These problems can be verbal, quantitative, or both and you will have access to a basic online calculator as your work through this section. Your prep course or individual sessions may focus on reviewing how to interpret data found on tables, scatter plots, charts, or other graphical images as a part of preparing for this section.
The final section is the longest at 65 minutes and contains 36 questions which test your Verbal Reasoning skills. This portion of the GMAT is evaluating your reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction skills. You'll need to be able to read through a passage to determine the main ideas, draw conclusions, and evaluate a plan of action. You also need to make sure your grammar and sentence structure skills are up to par to do well on the Verbal section of the GMAT. A GMAT review course can be a great tool if these are skills you know you need to improve.

I graduated Summa from University of St Thomas with a BA in English, and just wrapped up a MS in Data Science from Northwestern. I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.... Positivity. Always.
