I just answered the student's questions from his exercises. We covered problems on infinite series, how to determine if they are convergent or divergent, and to sum them if the series is convergent. He has pretty good understanding of the math concepts involved. I help him on how to see the problems, how to split expression into something easier to work with.

Tutoring review by Arlene in Castleton-on-Hudson, NY
Today I helped the student finish up her Ch. 1 review packet and practice problems from the book. We worked on word problems with rates and graphing inequalities. She needed help most with writing an equation that matched the word problem. I advised her to draw a picture when dealing with word problems because it's easier to understand. This first session went well because she seemed to like my teaching style and she understood my explanations.
