I am passionate about all areas of content knowledge, including math, science, English, and history. Because I also value moral knowledge, I firmly believe that the good example of a high quality tutor has the potential make a world of a difference in a person's life. I was lucky enough to have my parents as my tutors throughout my childhood and I hope to provide the same services to others.

I'm a medical student at UT Southwestern. During my time at UT, I have been very involved in various clubs. I have chaired a case competition and have been the VP of External Affairs for the UT Austin student chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society. I am an active part of Central Texas Model United Nations and have served as either Crisis Director or Crisis Staff in multiple conferences. I also volunteer every Saturday as part of my university's student chapter of Lions Club and am an active member of S.E.E.K, a program that connects students from underprivileged school districts to student engineers to get them excited about STEM and college in general.I tutor for the MCAT and draw instruction from my own experience with the test. I believe that there are best practices for studying for the test that make for more effective and efficient studying. These skills are a must when studying for a 7 and a half hour test that covers two years worth of material . In my spare time I enjoy wandering through forests, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with my friends.

I graduated from Jefferson University with a Bachelor's degree in science in Accounting. I volunteered in the learning Lab when I was at College to help students in Accounting and French to thank other tutors and teachers who were there when I needed help. Also, I have private clients in Mathematics, Economics, GED subjects and elementary school courses. In addition, I have experience working with students with disabilities. I am most passionate of teaching French, my native language, because I like to see students learning new language. Beside that, Accounting is a subject that I am always inspired to teach. Helping students and creating in them the inspiration to solve learning issues make me happy! I like to use many examples to demonstrate the courses for a good understanding of the subjects. During my free time, I enjoy reading books to improve myself, playing with my children,traveling and running.

During my time at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, I tutored my fellow classmates and students across the city in mathematics. Most recently, in college I had the wonderful opportunity to work with the America Counts program to mentor and tutor middle school students.While I have tutored extensively in mathematics, I also am available to teach a broad range of subjects. My favorite subject to tutor is mathematics because it is absolutely necessary in everything we do. I enjoy explaining the concepts to students and helping them identify what is missing in their train of thought.My experience in tutoring has taught me a lot about how to be an improved tutor and mentor. I understand that learning is challenging and that patience is very necessary to be successful in tutoring. I have also learned that a tutor is also a mentor not just an instructor that just tells the students which problems to do in their textbook. My tutoring philosophy is to have the student show me what they know and build on it. I will explain and teach them to remember what they do not already know. I believe as a tutor I should be able to help a student be more confident in a subject than they were before.Outside of academia, I enjoy watching movies, attending Maryland basketball games, and reading the New York Times. I have taken and tutored Intro to Programming and Data Structures & Algorithms several times. I have also taken and tutored physics, chemistry and Calculus 1-3. While my favorite subject is computer science, I enjoy all science and math-related courses and have experience tutoring most of them.

My name is Monika, and I'm currently a Junior at VCU. My major is Biology and I'm minoring in Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition, I'm also on the pre-med track, so I have taken many science classes!

I love chemistry.I had a long academic career, having studied everything from gunsmithing to computer science, but chemistry was the first thing that I was great at. I have a knack for connecting abstract theory to the history and modern practice of the sciences.I got my degree in biochemistry from the University of Arizona, where I taught general chemistry labs and TA'd for many semesters of biology. I focused much of my attention on organic chemistry, taking both the majors courses, as well as the 450, 538, and 640 synthetic design and mechanisms courses as electives.Since graduation I have kept myself busy doing freelance research and technical writing, including writing some material for the college board's AP chemistry exam. I hope that through tutoring and working with Varsity I can share my skill and passion for the sciences and help others find similar enjoyment.
