As a 20 yr old psychology major at my university, I am programmed to assess behavior and thoughts from children and parents alike to better cater to them. My success depends on the enabling of a child and their families to gain the most educational value from their studies and day to day activities by using them to relate and help make the comprehension process much easier. My goal is to get students to the point where they can teach someone else what they have learned therefore showing that they have a mastered a topic. Above all, with my ensuing patience, I provide an environment for them and their families to trust me to work with them until they get it. No child gets left behind!

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Masters of Science in General and Special Education, and am currently working on a Doctorate of Education. I have been dedicated to helping students become self-assured learners since 2005. I have taught primary, secondary, and Adult Basic Education (ABE) curricula and worked as a learning support coordinator. I have lived on four different continents while working as an international educator and teacher for DoDEA. I am passionate about supporting struggling learners and helping students of all ages reach their goals to build literacy and math skills.

I am a doctoral candidate in the Technology in Education and Second Language Acquisition program at the University of South Florida, expected date of graduation is December of 2023. I obtained a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction of Spanish as a Foreign Language from USF in August of 2017. I earned a bachelor of science in Foreign Language Education - Spanish from the University of Central Florida in May of 2013. Throughout my ten years in the field of education, I have been a middle/high school Spanish teacher as well as a professor of undergraduate and graduate pre-service teacher candidates. My approach to learning is to ensure that the learner's socio-emotional or other basic needs (e.g., hunger, shelter) are met first, and then to get down to business with content area knowledge and practice. My communication style is to over-communicate because my background is primarily language-based and communication is often the key to breaking down barriers to learning opportunities.

I have been teaching for 15 years. I have worked with both general education students as well as students with disabilities. My experience includes grades Pre-K to 8th grade. I try to understand the student's perspective as well as constantly maintain a positive learning environment. I am a firm believer in building a student's confidence. When a student is confident, they can achieve their goals. It is my job to support my students and assist them in accomplishing their goals!

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Korean with a focus on TESOL and Translation. I also received my Master of Arts in TESOL. Since graduating, I have worked with several language academies to discuss new methods of teaching, while also teaching subjects like Math, ESL, and Vietnamese to students K-9th. I can be very passionate about languages and culture, and specialize in pronunciation practice and writing skills. I always rely on a variety of media to improve reliability and make things more personal, as I believe that connecting with others and exchanging ideas is the hallmark of education. In my free time, I enjoy musical activities, watching shows on Netflix, and playing video games with friends.

I'm a fourth year medical student who will graduate from Georgetown University School of Medicine in May 2025. I have been tutoring since high school in a wide variety of subjects at all levels of education from elementary school to the graduate level. My tutoring philosophy is to identify where and how students are struggling and to use each student's learning style to break down concepts and learn in smaller steps. While I have a wide breadth of subjects in I am comfortable tutoring, I am most experience in the maths and sciences

New concepts and skills, especially academic skills, have always come very easy to me. This enabled me in school to always lend an extra hand to my friends around me and to help them grow and understand school challenges, including how to solve math problems or to develop topic sentences and outlines for essays.I love the process of relaying information to places and people who could use the extra push. This drive has given me particular long term aspirations. I want to develop a career centered around giving back to communities in need. I see myself in ten years managing my own nonprofit that helps young people in the developing world acquire tech and communication skills, like coding, english writing or data science, empowering them to pursue their own dreams. I was recently accepted to be a Math Fellow for a nonprofit organization called SAGA Innovations. At SAGA, I will be a full time tutor for early high school students studying in underprivileged spaces for the full 2016/2017 academic year. I am excited to have this opportunity, because I can use my love of learning to impact students in spaces that lack the necessary resources. Varsity Tutors is another stepping stone to complement this experience. The more exposure I get to mentoring different types of tutees, the stronger and more prepared I am to be a top tier mentor--a skill I will most definitely need for my long term goals. This is my primary drive to be a Varsity Tutor.
