LSAT Tutoring review by Jeff in Trenton, NJ
The student and I did some example English passages after she did some studying on her own over grammar rules.  She definitely seemed to show improvement.  Then I attempted to do some timed reading passages with her and she went over on both.  So she definitely still needs some work on time.  We finished up with some Math.  She is taking her last practice test this weekend.

We combed through several review packets to pick out challenging questions, and quickly reviewed concepts that the student had picked out as needing review including percent by mass, acids and bases and pH.

We went over two math questions she had trouble with from her homework practice SAT tests I gave her from last time. For homework to be due next session, the student must finish her practice exam I gave her. Critical reading sections are optional and up to her to decide if she wants to do them. She is also given an essay prompt to write under timed conditions, of which will be due next session.

The student and I worked on a little French and mostly math. In French she had a worksheet around choosing between tenses. I thought she had a remarkably good handle on those tenses considering her earlier struggles with the two past tenses. Her instincts seem to be improving in French. In math, we worked on a practice test for an end of year test she will be taking. We got through the whole thing in a little less than an hour, and picked out the areas she might struggle with that she should review.

In today's session, we went over meiosis and DNA replication. The student has a biology test on Monday, so I wanted to go over everything with her. She seems to have an understanding on the subject material. I showed her some animation videos. I think she will do great on her test!

LSAT Tutoring review by Rebecca in Trenton, NJ
The student had a great attitude and was extremely attentive, taking notes and asking good questions. She understands the principles of logical arguments well but sometimes doesn't read the question and information given quite carefully enough to apply these principles. We worked mainly on logical reasoning this session, and were able to clarify when an argument directly supports a fact or conclusion. We also discussed test-taking strategies, including process of elimination versus trying to have an answer in mind, and working easier problems first. We discussed her diagnostic test and focused mainly on the weaker areas shown.
