LSAT Tutoring review by Puneet in Mountainview, CA
We reviewed electrostatics and magnetism, including practice questions for both. The student is good at remembering the formulas, but we're working on solidifying conceptual understanding and knowing which formulas need to be memorized. She is definitely improving in her understanding of physical sciences topics, and her review prior to the session helps us be as efficient as possible.

LSAT Tutoring review by Mark in Mountainview, CA
Spent the session teaching the student the following topics: harmonic motion, elastic properties of solids, and fluid mechanics. While teaching her the topics, we did sample problems along the way to test her understanding of the material. I didn't assign her anything in particular, but did tell her to start reviewing the organic chemistry reactions and the anatomy material, since they are primarily memorization.

LSAT Tutoring review by Benny in Mountainview, CA
The first thing the student brought up was the acids and base questions I assigned as homework. She was not satisfied doing the amount of calculations required for these problems, so one thing to notice is that often times, you can choose answer choices based in estimations. We then went over mirrors and optics, since that is the most troubling topic for her at the moment. I will send her more practice on these topics along with the explanations and answer key.

LSAT Tutoring review by Avi in Mountainview, CA
This was the student's first session, and she wanted to focus on Physics. She was familiar with the format and some test strategy. Initially she said she was having trouble with utilizing equations in a conceptual way, instead of for calculations, which is a problem I have seen before. I brought two passages for us to do. Quickly I saw that she was very comfortable with equations but did not have many tools beyond that to link her content knowledge with the situations presented on the big exam. These tools include passage mapping and drawing sketches. The only way to build this up really is to do lots of practice the exam questions. We talked about study methods she should use, including doing a passage every time she studies. I asked her to continue her Physics review for next time, adding a Physical Sciences section test before our meeting. Her exam is in 6 weeks.

In our session today, the student and I covered Gas, Equilibrium, and Kinetics. We reviewed the concepts the student had the most questions over at the end of the session. I have left student with another set of questions that go over the material we covered in this past session.

The student and I covered a ton of games this week. He was moving faster and making really key deductions even with some really tricky games that we went over. He should be really proud of his success with this test; and it'll only get better!
