How can a tutor help your child master the HSPT?

The HSPT, or the High School Placement Test, is a test that is administered to eighth graders who are applying to private or parochial high schools. The test consists of 300 questions and provides students 2.5 hours to complete it. It's offered in the fall and spring every year. Is your child preparing to take this exam? Are they struggling through their test prep material? Long Island, NY, HSPT tutors can help your student prepare for the exam with custom-tailored lessons, sessions dedicated to their problem areas, and one-on-one attention. Varsity Tutors can help match your child with a tutor for their test preparation.

The five sections of the exam include quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, reading comprehension, language skills, and math. Does your child have trouble with one section more than the others? Their tutor can plan lessons based on the subjects that they struggle with the most. If they struggle with quantitative reasoning, their tutor can provide materials that can help them practice their geometric comparisons and number manipulations. The tutor can work by your child's side to help them through the problems they've gotten wrong and assist them as they complete them correctly. An HSPT tutor in Long Island can give your student individualized attention.

I could definitely see she made some improvements. Lastly, we reviewed the test-taking strategies for analogies and completed some exercises in the book. She also performed well here, too.
