Hello! My name is Simon and I am a graduate from UC Berkeley and currently pursuing a second degree in Nursing. I work as an Emergency Medical Technician and as a Nursing Assistant. When I'm not working or studying, I'm usually running, practicing guitar, or cooking with my fiance. I love to teach as much as I love to learn. I have experience tutoring in math but would be more than welcome to help out in other subjects as well. I like to keep the atmosphere fun and engaging. If you would like to know anything else about me, feel free to contact me!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to provide guidance through the material while allowing the student to actively work through what they can comprehend and make the material relatable. By allowing the student to use the knowledge they have before receiving assistance, students engage in critical thinking and tend to have better retention of the material. Adapting the material to something that the student can more easily understand or find more interesting is often helpful.
