I was a high school teacher for two years before returning to graduate school to study American Politics at NYU. I love supporting and engaging students in content, and giving them the skills they need to feel competent, powerful, and insightful.

My name is Alan; my educational background includes a Masters degree in Financial Engineering from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York and a Ph.D. in Economics from Fordham University in Bronx, New York. I also hold the FRM (Financial Risk Manager) certification offered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. My primary teaching areas are statistics, economics (micro, macro, international trade, international finance) and finance (corporate finance, investments, financial markets, risk management, derivative securities.)
