I am a dedicated student currently studying Mathematics and Economics at New York University. My academics are of great value to me and I am passionate about increasing my knowledge and sharing it with others.
During high school, I tutored a fifth grader with disabilities in math and english. Additionally, as a member of the Science National Honors Society, I have spent a number of hours helping high school students with their AP Chemistry coursework. I also have a younger brother in seventh grade and I’ve helped him with understanding math concepts such as slope, probability and word problems. Finally, I did an extensive research project for three years in high school where I studied Nanoparticle Based Drug Delivery as a treatment for cancer. When presenting this topic to my peers, I learned how to simplify complicated topics and how to condense years worth of research into a cohesive presentation. I believe that each one these experiences has provided me with valuable knowledge and skills that could be used to help other students.
Additionally, I am patient and am willing to explain concepts using different analogies or examples. I value my relationships with the students I am working with and will work to understand how he/she learns to make his/her tutoring session fruitful.
Outside of academics, I love to swim, sing, and volunteer. Throughout high school, I was a competitive swimmer and an active volunteer for programs for children with special needs. Currently, I continue to volunteer and swim during my free time. Additionally, I am receiving vocal training in Hindustani Classical Music.
I look forward to working with students to share my knowledge and enhance their understanding of subject material.
