Tutoring review by Shefali in Sea Cliff, NY
During this week's session, the student completed her homework from Section 4.4 on logarithmic functions #3-35 (odd) from her textbook. She had a few questions on a few problems that we were able to review to help her understand. We also continued into Section 4.4 by reviewing new topics on inverse log functions and graphing log functions. To practice, she completed problems #37-44 and 45-53(odd) from the textbook as well as additional problems from the Chapter Review from Sections 4.4. Overall, she felt confident with the material. For our next session, we will be reviewing for a Chapter 4 test.

Tutoring review by Nardos in Sea Cliff, NY
The student worked on solving cubed roots. She understood the concept really well and had a bit of trouble with understanding how to group up the roots, but she caught on very well towards the end. She also had to create flash cards for cubed roots.

Tutoring review by Julia in Sea Cliff, NY
The student worked on a unit of their online course and scored 100% on his quizzes. He is able to find rate fractions in word problems and reduce or divide to find unit rate (how many per one). He calculated volume of a rectangular prism after remembering the formula, and found percent as part divided by total times 100. He understood a distance problem after drawing a picture and devising a strategy with my support. He knows the definition of ray and straight angle, how to find missing angle measure in a figure using subtraction. He scored 100% and 80% on Lesson Checkpoint quizzes. Also, the lessons required the same calculations, the concepts were the same but given different names. The skills required were write and solve proportions without cross multiplication, interpret scatter plot graphs with positive slopes, consider points in a function "machine." The student is excited about getting to the end of the math portion of his curriculum.
