I love tutoring because I've always excelled at solving problems, achieving goals and helping others do the same. I put myself through college at Binghamton University with earnings from playing professional poker, and was set to begin a career in finance until the housing bubble burst in 2008. Although I received a degree in finance, the ensuing recession set me on an alternate path of entrepreneurship, and I've founded three companies so far.
As a tutor, I'm calm, laid back and patient. I try to explain how to solve each type of question and help students work through how to find the answers on their own. I focus on confidence as much as on content. I believe it's important to believe in your own ability to succeed; if you do, you'll perform even better than you would otherwise.
I have been tutoring for over 15 years in various capacities. I've tutored a wide range of subjects including SAT and ACT test prep, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, American History, World History, Economics, U.S. Government, English Literature, Writing, and many areas of science.
In my spare time, I love watching sports, movies and reading with my two dogs. While I primarily read nonfiction books, there is seldom a Harry Potter trivia question that I cannot answer. I love exercising and enjoying good food, and partake in both every day. I am so excited to help students and their families achieve the grades and test scores they deserve.
