Exploring and learning about the world around me are how I spent my childhood, and as an adult I have not changed much. The quest for knowledge and the sense of wonder one gets from learning have fueled much of my life so far. I am especially interested in nature, history, and foreign cultures. I graduated from Sewanee University with a double major in History and Russian and then spent 3.5 years in Russia where I taught English at Russian English Schools. I had done some tutoring before in college but as a full-time teacher I was not only able to develop my educational skills, but also really get to experience the world as a teacher. I loved it. I enjoyed being able to share knowledge, see my students advance and develop, and tried everyday to make my classes as fun as possible. People always learn best when they are interested. As a teacher I try to make every class as entertaining as can be in the situation whether that means games, pop-culture references, talking about a students interests, or just using humor.
I look forward to studying together!
