I am a qualified teacher and tutor with over 6 years of combined experience in foreign languages (French, Russian, ESL), language arts, SAT/GRE training as well as other humanities related subjects. I received my BA in French with a minor in language studies from San Francisco and am now in the process of finishing my MA degree (in NJ) as well. I have traveled and taught extensively both in the U.S and abroad and therefore have a vast knowledge and experience of different cultures and customs. I have taught students of all ages from K-Adults and am happy to adjust each lesson to the student's needs. Teaching and working with students is one of my main passions and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals. I love challenges and watching my students overcome educational obstacles. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, writing poetry and the arts.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

The short answer is- to be interactive. I believe student engagement is extremely important. For this reason, I create interactive, interesting lessons that are focused on student-led discussions, conversations, and critical thinking.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Get to know a student by conducting short activities to both assess their skills as well as see what approach will work best in the future.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Teach him/her valuable skills that go beyond the subject content.
