Tutoring review by John in Nedrow, NY
We reviewed the practice test for Logarithms and Compound Interest. Both concepts can be tricky to learn, but there are only a few different types of problems that you will be asked. It's important to learn the general rules of logarithms (addition, subtraction, converting from log to exponents, etc.) that can be applied to any numbers or variables given! The same idea goes for interest calculations. Learning the formulas by heart will help you solve any of the various problems that can be asked. The student has a good grasp on the material, and with a little more review she will do great on the next test!

Tutoring review by Robert in Nedrow, NY
The learner is a very conscientious student doing amazing in math and well in science. Today, we reviewed his chemistry, to include ionic bonds, covalent bonds, polymers, naming compounds, and reviewing oxidation states. His test is tomorrow, and he hopes to get better than his previous test in order to raise his grade to an A. I let the student know that he could contact me through my cell phone or personal email if he had any questions between now and his test.

Tutoring review by Laila in Nedrow, NY
The student and I started with the warm up game, STOP, again. Then we did another review of the present vs. present progressive. Later, she said she wants to continue reviewing grammar to be able to speak correctly, so we'll focus more on this in the upcoming sessions. We reviewed grocery store vocabulary, and she went ahead and defined the terms in English, without my asking her to. She did very well on this. We did a matching game of the terms, then I had her use the words in a sentence; we took turns on this. Next we reviewed a reading about grocery stores that was formatted in bullet points. Next we returned to reviewing countable and uncountable nouns. For homework, I asked her to use the grocery store terms in written sentences.

Tutoring review by Ih-Ren in Nedrow, NY
We reviewed some exercises mostly on trigonometric functions on some special angles like 30 degrees, 45 degrees, and 60 degrees evaluated at each of four quadrants, and circle arc length in terms of radius and central angles. The student was able to learn well. He may need to memorize trig function values on the 3 special angles. We will work on that next session.
