Tutoring review by Heather in Millcreek, UT
Today, we spent the entire session working on math. We started with the student's Unit 4 online test. The student was able to complete most problems without help. The student scored 100% on the test! Afterwards, we worked on the next section of math which focused on inequalities. The student remembered these topics from a previous class, but we reviewed by doing a few example problems. Overall, the student did a great job. I believe that he is ready to take the rest of his math quizzes for the week on his own.

We covered various problems he missed on practice AP tests. These ranged from graphical representations of functions and their interpretations, numerical ones, to differential function logic equations. The student is not having any problems with any of the concepts! He has a great attitude towards the material and I think he is doing very well. I saw grades from his past 2 practice AP tests, and both of them were 5's (the maximum score) with an 86% and a 93%. These are great grades, and I think he is looking very solid for the upcoming AP test. Keep it up!

Tutoring review by Yemi in Millcreek, UT
We went over photosynthesis, light reaction, and the Calvin cycle. We also looked at a problem from the first test to help her understand how to approach the problems. I noticed there was a gap of understanding. I suggested trying to understand the whole picture before going into the details. We went over the light reaction and Calvin cycle by first discussing the inputs, outputs, proteins, and the energy intermediates. After going over the purpose of these reactions and the structure of the plant cell we looked at some of her worksheet questions. From the few questions we did, she seemed to have a better grasp of the material from the surface level of studying. Once she continues the reading for that section, she will be able to learn even more and connect the stuff that we talked about to the stuff in the reading.

We worked on preparing the student for a test on Friday. I brought a worksheet I created on logarithms and exponent rules. After that, we worked on a problem packet that her teacher gave for review. It covered more log problems, graphing, evaluating, and simplifying.
