I am a current undergrad at Brigham Young University. I am majoring in Public Health and I plan to be a hospital administrator. I also of course have a passion for the Spanish language. I am minoring in Spanish currently and I am excited for the bilingual opportunities that the health care field offers. I fist discovered my interest for Spanish as an eighth grader. I won an award for foreign language at my school and I decided that maybe I should pursue learning more Spanish. I continued to study in high school and then I served an LDS mission in southern Spain. While there I did my best to take advantage of the learning opportunity. Spain has Spanish speakers from central and south america in addition to the native Spaniards. I learned to communicate with many people and perfect my Spanish one step at a time.
I had to learn one step at a time and that is my tutoring philosophy. I know that a new language can not be learned overnight. Just like Math or Science it is a learning process that takes time and patience. I work with student to improve, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, conversation, and whatever they stand in need of. I know how it is to struggle at learning a subject, and I also have experienced the satisfaction parents and students feel as understanding increases.
