My first college degree came from the University of Michigan. I graduated with a bachelor of arts in communications, specializing in journalism and screen studies (film and tv!). I worked as a film publicist in NYC for four years before deciding to go back to school to fulfill my first passion - working in the medical field. In January of 2019, I graduated from NYU with my accelerated second bachelors degree in nursing and successfully passed the NCLEX on my first attempt in April 2019. I currently work as a registered nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago.With my background, I really enjoy tutoring pre-nursing and nursing students as they navigate their way through this amazing industry. I work with a variety of student whether it's students fresh out of high school or, like myself, students that decided they wanted to go back and pursue another degree.I personally believe that every student must be treated as the individual they are. My love of learning pushed me to attain CNA certification, as well as that of a phlebotomist and an EMT. However, nothing was ever as rewarding as when I finally found myself in teaching. Searching for ways to reach every individual child, to help him understand and love the subject presented to him, I learned more than I ever had. In my fifteen years, first at a Russian school, then also at a private academy, and finally, as an academic advisor, I discovered that children all have different ways of learning, and it is extremely vital to personalize the approach. Tailoring the subjects of English, mathematics, Russian, and others to the individual - then seeing the child flourish and light up with the desire to discover and to learn; I learn so much from my students, and more than anything aspire to grow in them a love for learning.
