How can a Statistics tutor help you?

Are you in a statistics class that is going over distributions, ratios, and linear regression? Statistics can be a very complex subject. If you're falling behind in your class, or you just need some extra help studying and working through your homework, Varsity Tutors can help connect you with a tutor to guide you through the difficult concepts in statistics. A St. Louis, MO, statistics tutor can give you the attention you need on your stats coursework.

Statistics tutors in St. Louis, Missouri, can help you prepare for quizzes and tests, as well as help you work on your difficult homework. If you're struggling to understand the general idea of hypothesis testing, your personal tutor can plan a session to drill that subject with you. They can take into account the areas you need to work on the most, and then they can develop a progressive plan designed to help you get on track with your class. For example, if you have a quiz coming up on how to conduct an observational study from start to finish, your tutor can arrange a lesson to cover all of the essentials. They can also work with you at your own pace. If you take longer to work out a concept like binomial distribution problems, your private tutor can work alongside you slowly, answering your questions and providing insight and feedback.

Statistics Tutoring review by Cole in St. Louis, MO
We finished reviewing for the student's final. We covered chi square testing and worked on some probability problems. He was very appreciative and feels confident for his final. This was most likely our last meeting, and I feel like he has improved dramatically since we first met.

Statistics Tutoring review by Michael in St. Louis, MO
Today we covered linear regression and correlation and reviewed the semester's material. The student definitely remembered all of the material from earlier in the semester and requested that we discuss how to best related the correlation between weight and height if not using linear regression.

During today's session, the student and I focused on Chapter 6. We found a point estimate and a margin of error, constructed and interpreted confidence intervals for the population mean. We also determined minimum sample size required when estimating mu. We completed reviewing the chapter by interpreting the t-distribution and used a t-distribution table. We also constructed confidence intervals when n < 30, the population is normally distributed, and ? is unknown. She was able to complete the Chapter 6 homework and discussion question with little to no help from me.

Statistics Tutoring review by Dustin in St. Louis, MO
Last night I wrote him a practice test and today he performed admirably at it. He got 54 out of 65 questions right, and he could immediately identify what he did wrong. He is poised to make an A on his exam on Monday.

Statistics Tutoring review by Colin in St. Louis, MO
The student has a test tomorrow and wanted me to help her finish studying for it. Since this was our third meeting in the past week, she was feeling pretty confident about most of the material, but still needed some help finding mean and standard deviation. We went through various problems that she was struggling with and found that while she understood most of the concepts, she would miss problems by inputting things into the calculator incorrectly or reading the problem wrong. I told her to slow down and make sure she gets all of the information before starting each problem, and to double check all of her calculations.

Statistics Tutoring review by Lee in St. Louis, MO
The student and I met and went over Z-Scores today. We used her book and worked through every practice section together. First we calculated how to get z scores and probability from z scores. We then applied them to problems with different means and standard deviations. I made sure we worked very slowly and deliberately so the principals would stick.
