How can a Elementary Math tutor help you?

Does your child struggle with basic math principles, such as multiplication, graphs, or percentages? It's common for students to struggle with math. It is essential for your child to have a solid knowledge of math to perform well on the MAP (Missouri Assessment Program) exam. Varsity Tutors can help connect your child with a tutor that can work alongside them in their studies. St. Louis elementary math tutors can help your child as they work to pursue their academic goals in the course.

With their personal tutor, your student can be taught the material in a way that they can understand. Their private tutor can teach to their strengths. This means that they can teach material involving mass, subtraction, or factors with methods designed to help your student to absorb the information more effectively. They can observe how your child takes in information and then adapt their lesson plans to complement your student's learning style. Elementary Math Tutoring review by Emily in St. Louis, MO
Today's session included more addition and mental math. The student is slowly improving on how quickly she can do her mental math. With more practice, she should be able to get through them rather quickly. She also read a story that she created with the help of her dad. We went through words she wasn't familiar with and meanings. Also, we did more writing practice and spelling, focusing on words with the short "i" sound.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Rebecca in St. Louis, MO
We worked through the student's math homework as well as went over the problems missed on her last math test. We also worked on her weekly reading assignments as she is having a little trouble with the comprehension questions with the reading. She did really well and I could tell with the math she had a better understanding of the concepts and strategies after we went through the homework.

Elementary Math Tutoring review by Justyn in St. Louis, MO
We worked on 2 homework pages dealing mostly with multiplication. He had to create stories that represented the product of the question (ex: 5 * 2 = Student A had 5 balls and Student B had 2 times as many as Student A, how many did Student B have?). He is becoming really strong at multiplying. He worked on my self-created review sheet which focused on multiplying double digits and multiple step word problems. We concluded with doing 3rd grade vocabulary flash cards. The student is showing great progress in both math and vocabulary development.
