Recent Clayton Tutoring Session Notes

Tutoring review by David in Clayton, MO
The student seems to have a good grasp on the preliminary work in probability.  He was able to piece together the answers to the flash cards we set up the last session.  I think when he is able to see the pieces and construct or deconstruct meaning from them, that is a higher level than just memorization. A bright, central homework turn-in folder was recommended that is to be empty at the end of every day with assignments that needed to be turned in. I am really pleased with the seriousness with which he has embraced what I have suggested.

Great job on math, in particular. Will focus mostly on the writing and reading sessions, especially the essay. Assigned: 3 non-algebraic math problems, 10 vocabulary words, practice test. Excellent work so far!

We covered the study guide the student has for her finals coming up next week. We reviewed commands, indirect object pronouns, past participles, reflexive forms, and participles as adjectives. We also went through the cultural diversity lessons she has for the finals about different speaking Spanish countries. I think she is very well prepared for her final.
