I moved to the St. Louis area around a year ago after growing up and going to college in Kentucky. I started tutoring in high school with the writing team at my high school. I also helped friends in college with lower level math and all levels of geography. I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, and feel most comfortable tutoring in this subject.
I also feel comfortable with ACT prep across all subjects although I do not use a specific strategy as they never worked for me. Also, I am a stickler for proper grammar and spelling, but can also help with essay writing and other areas of English education. I have always been good with mathematics, and feel qualified for everything up to Calculus.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I realize that every student is unique and learns best through different learning styles. I believe that working through example problems helps with most common learning difficulties since sometimes verbal teaching leaves something to be desired.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would go over what they already know so I can focus on the areas in which they are struggling.
