Tutoring review by James in Davidson, NC
The student understands the concepts, but we worked on some examples to prepare him for his big test over equations of lines. Since the test is cumulative, we also went through the previous chapter to double check that he remembered all of those topics.

Tutoring review by John in Davidson, NC
We reviewed subjects for the test tomorrow. This included working with and simplifying expressions containing exponents, factoring polynomials, and determining solution sets with equations containing absolute values. I showed the student the "critical values" method for solving inequalities, which is an alternative to the method based purely on memory. We covered the special factorization patterns. (He has the formulas for sum and difference of cubes almost completely memorized...I gave him some tips for remembering them.) I gave him some additional practice factoring problems. His attitude was good, and I expect him to do well on his test.

The student reported that his grade has moved up to an 80. We reviewed for his test on Friday, covering solving quadratics by factoring, taking square roots, or completing the square. We worked on prime factorization and then started his worksheet on the quadratic formula. Good session.

Tutoring review by George in Davidson, NC
The student and I reviewed the concepts found in Chapters 8 and 9 of his AP Biology text, covering Genetics and Mendelian inheritance. As always, I offered him my Biology tips for thinking and studying like a biologist. He quickly showed a strong grasp of the material and applying these skills. We then covered the chapter's Key Concepts, and he continued to show a strong grasp of DNA, the cell cycle, and inheritance. Finally, we reviewed the chapter summaries to cover anything we may have missed. There was really no weak area for him. Any questions I asked he either knew outright or had a general grasp of. I expect him to continue to do very well in AP Biology, especially if he sticks to the skills we went over. It was a pleasure tutoring him.

Tutoring review by Roberto in Davidson, NC
We covered the basics of functions in great detail, including domain, range, piecewise functions, graphs, and function composition. We covered parabolas and graphing inequalities. The student has a final on Wednesday that she is studying for, so we covered those things that she was having the hardest time with on the review. I gave her some practice problems to do in her spare time.
