My Number 1 tutoring goal is to ignite the passion for knowledge and learning inside of every student I have the opportunity to teach. Everyone has the potential to be a learner--it's all about having the tools and someone to believe in you to give you the confidence to try.

I am a very experienced person with more than six years in education. I love finding new and different techniques to make learning as fun and effective as possible. I try to provide the most comfortable atmosphere for all my students. I taught abroad and I am looking forward to tutoring ESL to anyone who needs improvement. I also have experience in Broadcasting, Film Production, and Photography. In my spare time, I love going outside and taking pictures of anything and everything. I also love music and movies.Living abroad taught me how to teach a large variety of students. I am looking forward to working with you.
Based in Philadelphia but born and raised in southeastern Florida, a love of history has persisted within me since I was a child, and it has been my dream to have the opportunity to share my passion with others, and to get them engaged in the ongoing preservation of our collective past. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Public History, and I received a Master's Degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Florida in 2018. As a tutor, I specialize in American and European history, and also tutor writing and language arts. My philosophy is learning through creating, and I believe that creativity is the best outlet to learn and retain knowledge.
I enjoy teaching, helping students gain knowledge, skill, and thereby power. I think the strength and skills of the younger generation are the most important things we can pass on. It takes education to develop those characteristics. I have an admiration and respect for Science, in particular Biology and Environmental Science, and I can not imagine a better way to spend my time than to talk about these two favorites, along with Math, with young people. And lastly, I have had a very supportive and happy experience working with Varsity Tutors, and I wholeheartedly approve of the way they manage the relationship of parents and students with we tutors. I tell everyone this is the best "job" I every have had.
As a passionate educator and researcher with a Master's in Education and a Bachelor's in Psychology, I have over 15 years of tutoring experience across various subjects, including AP Psychology, English Grammar, and Executive Functioning. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth. I tailor my approach to each student's unique needs, utilizing methods that enhance their understanding and confidence in the material. I am particularly motivated by the joy of helping students achieve their academic goals, whether it's through essay editing or mastering technical writing. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading and exploring new technologies, which further enrich my teaching methods and connect with my students.
I work with students and parents to tailor lessons to make sure they're learning in their own best pace and style.
I grew up in Charlotte and have lived in numerous neighborhoods in the area. My family had a cottage at Lake Norman for many years and we enjoyed many summers on the water. Since then I have made purchases at Lake Norman and Charlotte and have extensive knowledge of what both areas have to offer. NC licensed Broker since 2001.Working as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential is a great way to be able to provide specialized service to prospective clients in geographical areas that they might not otherwise have access to with other companies. Many clients come to the area without any knowledge of what areas might be a good fit for them. I enjoy finding out what their needs are, and developing a strategy to locating the home that best fits their motivations. As for sellers, I understand the selling process with 18 years of experience as a full time Broker. I understand how to see a property from a buyer's perspective and am able to "coach" sellers in a way to make their properties the most desirable to potential buyers.
My passion is helping to educate my clients in the areas they need assistance with. As a financial advisor and investment advisor representative, this is what I do on a daily basis, and I look forward to helping you accomplish your goals.
I believe that every student has a unique learning style that I am happy to work with. I strive to build confidence and increase future success. I look forward to working with you!
Academic instruction is authentic, discussion-oriented, and interdisciplinary in order to create a holistic understanding, critical questioning, and evaluation for a person to grow cognitively and spiritually, promoting the betterment of a multicultural, ever-changing world.
Howdy! My name is Vivienne Taylor and I'm a recent graduate from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Environmental Science. As I grow more in my role as a climate scientist and advocate I increasingly understand the vital power that knowledge can provide to youth. I would love to tutor you!!!
I am a graduate of Appalachian State University. I received my B.S. in Applied physics and my M.S. in Engineering Physics with a focus in Laboratory Automation. I worked as a TA for intro physics and electronics labs and am currently teaching math courses for an after-school program for accelerated students. My passion for math and physics has led to me greatly enjoying teaching others and watching them discover the laws that govern the world we live in. My teaching style involves leading students with questions to find the answers themselves. Understanding the underlying concepts is the key to mastery, not just memorization of equations and formulas.
